First of all, calling this place “fast food” is an injustice. This needs to be distinguished from the likes of TacoBell and Wendy’s. This is a small local joint run by some hard working ladies that deliver on quality.

This was the only place that was open when we checked in to our cabin. I needed something different from poutine which I’d tired from. I love seafood but I never liked lobster. I figured what the heck because the lady said they just hauled in the lobster the previous day. So we got a lobster roll and fish & chips. Jesus Christ that lobster roll was one of the most succulent treats I ever had. There was nothing else special about it- just some mayo and a bit of lettuce. But fresh lobster literally eclipsed everything else. I can’t have it any other way now.

Yes this place is cash only but there’s a Scotia bank just down the street. This probably has the latest business hours so that’s another boon if...

Great spot! We were visiting Cape Breton and spent way too much time on the skyline trail and trying to loop around the other side of the park. Many shops and restaurants close very early around the area and this place was the only place that opens until late.

Cash only! Boy I wished I had some Canadians at the time but i didn't. I was able to pay for the food in US dollars, however, they were not able to covert the currency, and gave us change back in Canadians. So definitely wasted some money there but I do appreciate them for taking US dollars at least.

The lobster roll was great! Very fresh and delicious. If they were able to covert the currency, the price would have been a steal. We also had the fish burger, fried clams, and chicken fingers and everything was great.

Overall a...

My wife & arrived at our lodging the other day & wanted something quick & casual so stopped here. We ordered a burger, lobster roll & small poutine, all ready within 15 minutes. The burger wasn't anything special, but the lobster roll was LEGIT - the Cape Breton restaurant scene could take some lessons from Brookside - fill your rolls with more lobster meat than mayo/celery & make it taste fresh & wonderful for less the cost! Like previous reviews have stated, no curds in the poutine but that didn't stop us from devouring it & the 'small' was more than enough for two people. The lady taking our order was friendly. We would definitely...

You can't beat an $18 (cash only) lobster roll. As someone from the GTA, this is a complete steal, and exactly what we came here for. It is a perfectly good $18 roll, and for what you get its priced extremely fairly - its just a generous portion of fresh lobster on a simple bun, nothing more nothing less. At the end of the day though sometimes that's all you need. No extra ingredients or anything fancy, I dont even know if I tasted any butter. This is a takeout place so I assume there aren't any need for markups like in a restaraunt. Overall, very worth it!
