We are from Ontario on an East Coast Road Trip adventure and this was absolutely one of the best meals we’ve had during our trip! This is a family run establishment where they have been cooking amazing food for 50 years! Compliments to the chef as the food was fresh, flavourful and prepared to perfection. Brandi and Lauryn were our servers and they were excellent. They made us feel like we were welcome guests in their home. Grandma had a chicken club wrap. We both had the grilled seafood platter. Our son had pizza and fries and ice cream. The chicken club was made with huge freshly cooked pieces of chicken. You could feed an army with this dish! The seafood platters were loaded with delicious fresh seafood. Great quality fresh seafood for a very reasonable price. Our son liked his pizza and he’s very picky so we know it’s good for kids! The icing on the cake for our boy was the huge serving of ice cream with gummies on top. He was in his happy place! This restaurant is special. They cook with love and they serve with passion for the family restaurant that they take great pride in. There is a reason it’s been around for so long. Thank you for a really great dining experience. We hope to see you again. Until then, keep up...

Was at the middle head trail hike and decided to not eat at the upscale lodge restaurant and ended up here. It has a friendly family diner feel to it and overlooks the water. The view cannot be beat. Our waitress was friendly and energetic and made us feel right at home. We ordered a lobster club sandwich, fried seafood platter, grilled seafood platter, and seafood martinque. The food came fairly quick and portions are big and are above expectation in presentation. They obviously have put efforts in it. My friends shared the fried and grilled platters and claimed they were well done. I had the seafood martinque and it was with a creamy sauce that is rich but not overpowering the rest. The ingredients tasted very fresh and cooked just to my liking. My other friend had the lobster sandwich and compared to the lobster roll he just ate yesterday in Sydney he likes the sandwich better (the sandwich does have bacon so that might have helped :) ). Overall it was a wonderful experience in food, service,...

Based on the reviews, I had higher hopes for this restaurant. Unfortunately it was a complete disappointment. The view from the sunroom was spectacular and that was the best part of this experience. The food was expensive and mediocre. The worst part however was the service. The server took our order, which was a shared appetizer for us and two main meals. She brought the appetizer out with my partner's meal at the same time which was odd. But to top it off, my own meal didn't come until 10 to 15 mins after my partner got his. Then we never saw our server again. We needed an item that wasn't brought out with the meal, which we had to eventually ask a table busser for, otherwise we never would have gotten it. We had to eventually go to the counter to pay for our meal without a bill so we could leave. On a side note, a very unpleasant scent kept wafting out of the kitchen as well as some low key arguing which could be heard at the tables. All in all, I would definitely...

This unassuming looking restaurant is a hidden jewel! Our absolute favorite is to eat fish or seafood while looking over the water. The Seagull is exactly that! Plus, the food is delicious! We had many lobster rolls during our week on Cape Breton Island, but these were the absolute best! We were able to get window seats on the porch both times and what a view! After the first meal, we ended up arranging our trip to come there for lunch two days later. The servers are super nice and very efficient. We'll remember this restaurant for a LONG time!
