McPuffin's Atlantic Seafood Restaurant — Restaurant in Joggins

Really really good. Who would have believed that such an excellent little restaurant could be had in a small town like Joggins.

I had the scallop and lobster alfredo. It was cheesy excellence. Generous portions of lobster and local scallops and generous amounts of cheese. Many alfredos can be a slop of cream sauce. This one wasn't. It was really good.

My mate had the pan fried haddock and bay shrimp. Again another excellent dish. Haddock was buttery and tender and the shrimp was unexpectedly buttery and tender as well. It's a fine line with shrimp where it can get rubbery if overdone. This shrimp wasn't; it was perfectly cooked and flavourful. The fries were awesome. 10/10. We had a lot of fish and chips on our trip so this was a nice pan fried alternative to deep fried fish. Good on the restaurant to have the pan fried option

Such friendly service from the lady at the front desk and the gentleman with the long hair who took our orders and brought our meals. Both cared and both were very sincere and super friendly.

Since there is an overwhelming concern about this review I figured I would explain my reasoning for those who seem particularly bothered, I wouldn’t want there to be any misunderstandings. I have had multiple negative encounters with the owner of this restaurant, one incidence happening at a local business owners convention where he outwardly degraded and belittled the woman who organized the event based on a very minor error she made in her presentation. Along with this there have been encounters where the owner has spoken to myself and members of my family as if we were somehow beneath him and then proceeding to give a family member and her son the middle finger while driving in Joggins. As much as I appreciate people suggesting that my negative review is based on my close relationship with Bayview Restaurant, it’s 2018 and believe it or not a woman is able to cultivate her own opinions and have a mind of her own. After reading many good reviews we decided to stop here after our visit to the fossil cliffs, but left soon after our appetizer arrived.

We ordered the fried cauliflower only to find that the cauliflower was covered in brown spots including an area that was going bad. After showing the spots to the chef, he went to the kitchen and brought out the uncooked half of the spotted cauliflower as evidence that it was not bad.

I know that these spots might be harmless, but they should have been removed before cooking, and the chef should have handled our concern differently. We left before the rest of our meal was served, and will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone.
