We’re traveling across Canada and made a stop here on our way to Montreal — and what a fantastic find!
The outdoor setup is super charming: cozy fire pit, bean bag toss, and even dockside seating where we enjoyed our meal with a view. The vibe is relaxed, welcoming, and perfect for road trippers or locals alike.
We kicked things off with the jalapeño cream cheese bacon wraps, and wow — mind blown. Creamy, smoky, spicy — a total must-have! We shared the platter, which came with four types of meat, coleslaw, and beans — all perfectly cooked and packed with flavour.
The staff were incredibly friendly. They welcomed us with big smiles, took the time to walk us through the menu, and even let us try a sample before ordering — such a thoughtful touch.
After our meal, we played a friendly round of bean bag toss (my boyfriend may have crushed me, but it was all in good fun 😄). We topped it off with some ice cream for dessert. The cobbler wasn’t quite ready and the espresso machine was having an off day, so we opted to make coffee back in our RV — no biggie.
We absolutely loved this stop and would 100% come back if we’re in the area again. Highly recommend for anyone craving good BBQ, friendly faces, and a...
Read moreAs an Austinite making my way from Sudbury to Sault, this was a bit of a surprise to see a TX BBQ place on the way, so I had to stop in. The atmosphere was a proper TX BBQ joint, nothing fancy, just the smell of bbq! We bought the brisket, ribs, and slaw.
The brisket was properly cooked with a well seasoned bark. It lacked the smokey flavor that you would get from south of the boarder, but still very well done.
The rib itself was properly cooked, but I didn't care much for the sauce on the ribs, it was dried out. Might have been from the end of the day, and I think a St.Louis would have kept better. .
Slaw was good, but could have been just a touch creamier.
BBQ sauce reminds me of Rudy's, so it's solid. As a fellow Texan, this is a solid place to stop and grab some proper BBQ, and definitely MILES better than places like Montana's that states "tx" bbq.
BIG plus for the Topo Chico lime BTW !
Only way you're going to get better in the area is to fly to TX and bring back brisket from Terry Blacks, My SO and I will be making another trip out once it's warmer to enjoy good...
Read moreMy honest opinion. I truly believe they have a lot of potential and could be a gold mine if they make some adjustments.
We had two pulled pork sandwiches, one potato salad and one Mac and Cheese. The pork was good but I didn’t care for their sauce. Maybe different sauces could be an option in the future.
Potato salad and Mac & Cheese were horrible. If you do go, maybe the coleslaw will be your best option. It did look good.
I loved the Atmosphere, know you are not able to eat in. A great location on nice days and take out. Restrooms were very clean.
I found it expensive. The portions and quality of the sides did not meet the price.
I was hesitant to write this review because I’m partial to North Carolina BBQ. However, I’m a foodie and know good food.
I will give them another chance though, would love to try their ribs and coleslaw. I’m not much for brisket, but would try that as well.
I truly hope the owners do well and make a few tweaks. This isn’t Texas. All this area wants is good food, good service and a full belly. Word of mouth spreads quickly...
