A&W Canada — Restaurant in Kapuskasing

Last night after travelling on the road for over 10 hours, my mother in law and I pulled into the A & W. While ordering, several times the young man working the cash would cut us off and wouldn’t allow me to put ANY toppings on my chicken burger except mayonnaise and yelled “WHAT” through the speaker at us several times. I don’t know how true it is, but he also informed us that there A & W location does not have ice for there soft drinks. Once at the window to receive my burger, we requested that ketchup be added to the bag, and he entirely ignored my mother in laws request so she repeated herself and he shoved the bag out the window into her face and said that there was ketchup in the bag before slamming the window in her face. We stayed parked at the window for a moment waiting on my iceless drink and when he didn’t return to the window we had to then drive through the drive through again to request my drink. Which he tried to give us no straw for as well. Absolutely terrible service, and the food was just as awful. Don’t recommend this place at all unless you can cope with the teenage attitude...

I stopped in after a long work day, and ordered my usual beyond burger combo. Unfortunately they were all out due to a recall, so the front worker suggested the masala burger for an alternative vegetarian option. When I replied that it's really good but sadly too spicy for me, they offered to make it separately with a different sauce that would be much more mild. The worker even brought it over to my table when it was ready, which was unexpected and very nice of her. All of the staff were really friendly, and I appreciated so much extra effort to offer an alternative when they didn't have the first item I ordered. This place deserves a ZERO star! We were on a long road trip with the family. We arrived there at 10:55am and we all went to the washroom and when we came back to order breakfast we were turned down. The angry kitchen cook/manager rudely said he's not serving breakfast anymore.. The kids were all hungry and we wanted to try the a&w breakfast but after this experience we will never go to a&w for breakfast. For any travellers out there DO NOT stop at this a&w. Extremely bad service with rude and impatient kitchen staff! Drive down a few minutes and you'll be greeted by the friendly and cheerful TIM...
