Kinvale Restaurant — Restaurant in Kawartha Lakes

They have been a staple part of our cottage experience for many years. We'd have at least one famy dinner every week from their great Chinese food menu. Since Covid they have raised their prices beyond reasonable, over 40% more for everything and the size of each dish is at least 30% smaller. I think we all need to fight inflation by letting businesses know we won't continue to buy from them when they cross the line of diminishing returns. We have decided we will not be ordering anymore. A great meal in any nearby town, Bobcaygeon, Lindsay, Fenelon Falls all have dining experiences for less money, great food and better atmosphere. We stopped at this small quaint restaurant on our way back from Bancroft, we were starving and besides a food truck we did not encountered any food establisments. Once we reached Kinvale we found this restaurant on the main street and took the plunge. The restaurant is small with only 6 tables in an old building with big windows toward the main street. The menu is varied from pork chops to chinese food, the food sizes were perfect and tasty ......the price was amazing it costed us less than eating at McDonalds or A&W fast food restaurants. I don’t know why there a lot of negative reviews about the portions or quality of food, but we had great food. We had a mix of Canadian and Chinese food. Portions were definitely not small. (And we’re big fat eaters!) and all of it was very tasty! We had to get take-out containers to take the rest home. I’ve never had wings done like that before. We had the crispy honey garlic wings and it was like the crispy batter of fish and chips. Different but so good! Delicious burger too. Definitely made in-house (it wasn’t a frozen patty).
