This restaurant is within walking distance from where my daughter and her family live, so it was convenient for us to stroll up to it for my daughter's birthday dinner, nearly three weeks ago, on a Saturday evening. I phoned to make a reservation ahead of time, and inquired if the establishment was "kid friendly", and was assured that it was, and they even offered a kid's menu. The place looked very nice from the outside, and we were greeted upon entering, and shown to our table on the deck per request. After a few minutes, the server brought us water, in two separate trips, with fingers around the glasses, instead of using a tray. (6 of us were there, including 3 children). She then asked us if we wanted drinks other than water. The children asked for milk, and we were told that there was no milk left, they had run out the night before. My son-in-law and I each ordered a pint, and my daughter said that she wanted to taste ours before she chose. Clearly she was forgotten, and after about 10 minutes, my daughter went in to get her own pint, where she witnessed our server eating a Greek Salad at the bar, WITH HER FINGERS, the same fingers that had been wrapped around our water glasses......the meal arrived in a timely fashion, and the portions were large, and a very good price. We noticed that the children's menu items came with ice cream for dessert, and my daughter told her kids that if they did a good job eating dinner, they could have ice cream. We had been forgotten again, so I went in to find our server to request ice cream for the kids. Again, I was told that they had run out the night before. She went to double check, and confirmed that there wasn't any left. I asked her if there was then a substitute, and she told me that there wasn't. I then asked her if the kid's meals would be discounted, since the dessert was not to be included, and she told me that the owner was not there to authorize that, and that besides, the till had no way of calculating a discount. I asked for the bill, she didn't offer to pack up any leftovers. The bill came to nearly $100.00. She didn't deserve a tip for the substandard service, and I used the money that I would have tipped to go to the other corner to buy the kids their ice cream. Again, I reiterate.....food was very good, portions and pricing, also very good. It's a shame about your serving staff; I feel like there is a lot of potential for this establishment in the...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at POM, and I must say, it was a truly exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, I could tell that this establishment was something special. The owner's passion for customer service and commitment to providing the highest quality was palpable, and it was clear that she puts her heart and soul into this place. The atmosphere was electric, with happy customers filling the restaurant with laughter and good vibes.
But what really blew me away was the food. The chef clearly has a deep passion for his craft and is committed to ensuring the quality of every single ingredient. He even mentioned that he assesses his food chain supplies constantly to ensure that only the best ingredients make it into his dishes.
I started with their famous fries, and I have to say, they were some of the best fries I've ever had. Perfectly seasoned and crispy on the outside, yet soft and fluffy on the inside. But the star of the show was undoubtedly the burger. Nestled in a bun with aged cheddar cheese, a thin sliced pickle, a juicy tomato, and shredded lettuce, this burger was a thing of beauty. On the first bite, I was struck by how well-balanced the flavors were, with each component shining through without overpowering the others. And the beef patty was clearly of the highest quality, cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor.
I also appreciated the seating options, including the beautiful patio that's open in the fall, spring, and summertime. Whether you're looking to catch the big game, host a work event, or just hang out with friends and family, POM has you covered.
Overall, I would highly recommend POM to anyone looking for a truly exceptional dining experience. The passion and dedication of the owner and chef shine through in every aspect of the restaurant, from the atmosphere to the food to the customer service....
Read moreI usually prefer not to leave bad reviews but my experience here was truly terrible. My party signed in and were told by our server to grab a table outside as the inside was full. No problem. Waited about 45 minutes with no sign of our server. Went in to double check that they were still offering service and we could still get food, by this point it was maybe 8:45 and the place is open until 11. Took another half hour to receive water and a menu. The table next to us had someone seated there who worked at the place and they turned on their umbrella light as it had gotten dark and rainy by this point. We followed suit so at least we weren't sitting in the dark any more. That table eventually moved inside as it started raining quite a lot and had gotten dark. Closing the doors behind them and leaving my party in the rain, still no food and no server. After receiving one drink and waiting another 20 minutes with no sign of food I went in to ask for our food to go so we could start walking home. Another 20 minutes later the to go containers are brought to our table. The server asked if we want anything else... Yes, the bill (which one might infer from the requested to-go food). Waited another 15/20 minutes to pay and leave. Two hours of sitting in the rain, to receive a couple of cold chicken wraps and one drink. The food was not worth the price or the wait. I will pay to take a cab to somewhere that offers service and avoid this...
