Visited here with some family members over the weekend!
They arrived before us and got a scone before we arrived, they said it was 10/10, best scone they ever had & would definitely go back to get it again!
When we ordered our main meals (we all got breakfast items) the menu listed hashbrowns as a side option, which typically is hashed potatoes that are pressed and grilled to golden brown. When we got our food the hashbrowns actually turned out to be home fries, which we weren't expecting but didn't bring it up at all since it wasn't a big issue as the main portions were big and the home fries were just a side item, but majority of us were not fans of home fries so they didn't eat them.
Our waitress was amazing, 5/5 stars for them! But towards the end, maybe a manager or supervisor came to clear our table and asked why we were wasting so much food in a bit of a condescending tone, so we had explained the confusion over it saying hash browns and not home fries as they're quite different and essentially replied saying 'why would we serve that here?' and referenced the cheap box of hash browns you can buy from suppliers, even though you can make these sort of hash browns fresh as well. At first I thought maybe in Kelowna they label it differently, but thinking back on it I have been to places here where hash browns on the menu have been actual hash browns, and home fries have been labeled as home fries. It would have been way more understanding if he had asked if there were issues with our food because we didn't eat everything (the portions were also pretty big too which was of good value) & said something along the lines of I understand the confusion, we just label it differently here but this interaction shifted the mood of our table after the fact.
Aside from that, our visit was good! The portion of the food was definitely worth the value. I got the eggs benedict and it was amazing (I enjoy homefries so I ate mine, they were very good if you like homefries!). My partner got the French toast which was okay - you could really only taste the egg in it but it was better with maple syrup. My other family members got the waffle & an omelet which they enjoyed! If the manager/supervisor had worded his statement differently with a different tone, I would have rated it higher. Before it happened I was thinking what a good meal, we'll definitely come back, but afterwards I left sort of confused as to why he reacted the way he did, making me hesitant about coming back. He could have been just trying to joke around, but it did not come across like that...
Read moreAs someone who quickly fell in love with the Jammery in Kelowna, I couldn’t wait to come back down and try the OG. Upon arrival the parking lot was busy and the gardens were stunning. We took a few minutes to explore the gift shop while we waited for a table to be available and found some well priced tea and household items to purchase. Just as I was finishing at the till our name gets called and we are shown to a table near a window in the sunshine. Perfect all around. Our server comes over and tells us the specials before taking our order. The next server comes over with the most wonderful looking drinks. We were in bliss and discussing how glad we were that we had come to the Jammery today. Then the host comes into the picture… this man is stomping around the restaurant creating an ear piercing squeak with his shoes ever move he makes. He reefs one of our tables away and moves it to the table behind us, then slams the chairs down with it, before undoing all of this and slamming the table back beside me. Not one word said to me or my company. He then proceeds to bark at the two servers before he starts clearing the table infront of us. Now, when I say clearing the table, I mean he his slamming cups onto the smaller empty table beside him and shoving things around. Creating quite a ruckus all while squeaking through life. This was not the vibe. This man had no regard for anyone around him. No realization that people might be trying to enjoy their brunch. Our food eventually arrives after a computer error, which the lovely servers BOTH came over to communicate to us about and handled it so well. The food was lackluster to say the least. I compared mine with a photo I had taken last time and it was clearly subpar. We ate anyways, it wasn’t the magic I had experienced, but it wasn’t bad. The only redeeming quality of this dining experience was the servers. Carly wasn’t even our server, but stopped to help or check in so many times. Her amazing attitude and authenticity was so wonderful. Her energy seemed to lift the negativity the previous man had clouded over the room. Then she tells us it was her first day!!! This woman was a rockstar! Thank you for being so...
Read moreMy friends and I were really looking forward to eating at the Jammery but we had the worst experience. We arrived at 10:45 and got seated at 11:45 which we didn’t mind because we didn’t have to be anywhere until 1:30. 20 minutes after we ordered our food, we noticed a table that ordered after us get their food. We thought ours would be coming right after but then larger table who was seated after us and ordered after us received their food. We asked our server where our food was and he said it will be 15 minutes. We wait and then another table who sat and ordered after us get their food. We asked our server what’s going on and he said he will go check with the kitchen staff. When he came back he said it would be 5 more minutes and when we asked why tables who arrived after us were getting their food first he said “I’ll go swear at the kitchen staff”. We asked him to get the manager and he said okay. He did not get the manager. Another table that came and ordered after us received their food so we asked another server to get the manager. At this point the first table who got their food already finished eating, had paid and left. A supervisor comes over, we explained the situation and asked how 4 tables received their food before we did. She said “I don’t know why that happens. It’s Sunday, the kitchen is backed up. Sometimes when there’s a difficult order it takes longer. It will be 5 more minutes.” We ordered off the menu and made no modifications whatsoever so that didn’t make any sense. Finally at 12:40 our food comes out just as we chose to leave. We wasted 2 hours of our time. Several hours later we receive a voicemail from the Jammery that said our order wasn't put in and she offered a $50 gift card. This is completely unacceptable and the situation should have been handled right then and there, not hours later. The supervisor should not be in charge especially on a busy Sunday if she can't handle the situation. Terrible experience, we are never going back or ever recommending anyone...
