Beach House Grill — Restaurant in Kingsville

Much brighter than it used to be, thanks to new windows and passthrough home in the middle wall. Staff is very friendly and a few servers really stand out as excellent. My son loves the cod dinner and continues to get it. Unless you ask for well done fries, they will come soft and limp. Our entire family asks for them well done now. Prices are ok but the burgers are rather pricey. My daughter loves their chicken and waffles. Says she's in heaven when she eats them. Wife loves the pizza burger this time she got it, was cold and raw on the inside. Staff took care of it and got her a new one (plus more soft fries) and gave us a complimentary basket of donuts. Very nice touch to what could have been a bad experience. I had the chicken parmesan. Chicken was good but not sure if they were frozen cutlets or fresh breaded and fried. The thickness of the chicken was very consistent on both pieces but the shape did not appear to be "frozen cutlet" looking. Either way, was very good. The Marinara sauce was excellent and there was lots of pasta to go with it and it was served just the way I like it, VERY HOT. Despite the new cold air blocking wall in the entrance, it was so cold that we all had to wear our coats to stay warm while eating. Use the other room if you have a choice. Overall...

We were renting a cottage in Kingsville and decided to take the kids out to eat at The Beach House. The server came over and took our order. We had deep fried pickles to start. These were sliced pickles(similar to how cucumbers are sliced in a veggie tray) and the batter on the majority of them was soft and mushy. The kids ordered chicken strips and fries and grilled cheese and fries. The only dipping sauce for the chicken fingers they offered was BBQ sauce. No plum or sweet and sour sauce which is typical for chicken fingers. The kids each ordered apple juice to drink and the waitress completely forgot to bring them out. Went the whole meal with the kids just drinking the water she brought out initially. I ordered the chicken clubhouse sandwich with fries. I was asked if what type of bread I wanted and I asked for whole wheat. My meal came and it was clearly white bread. and the bread was just bread from a regular loaf of bread. The “chicken” in the sandwich was pre-sliced frozen chicken you can buy in packages at the grocery store. The bacon I am not even sure it was even real bacon. And the cheese was a Kraft cheese slice. Service was terrible, food was terrible. I would not recommend to anyone to go here. Easily the worst part of our trip was choosing to go here...

Food was pretty good, portions good. The service was not good. I went with my best friend and my 2 young kids. We are both current/ex servers and we're appalled by the attitude. She gave attitude when I asked if my son (who has sensory issues) could order egg whites. I even said if it's not an option, no he can get over medium and I'll cut out the yolk myself. Still - attitude and eye roll. I've never in my life been asked how I wanted my eggs with an eggs Benedict, so I was confused and just said poached please. Again, more attitude. Like sorry but most places don't ask... my bad. After ordering, the waitress came back and said, "I forgot to ask, did your son want bacon or sausage with the pancakes?" I said well neither but if he has to get one, bacon I guess and his brother can have it. We get the bill and there was an upcharge for egg whites (fine, but could have been mentioned) and 3.99 upcharge for the bacon we did not even want??

I don't think I'll be going out of my way to go back unfortunately. Not the worst experience ever, but extremely uncomfortable. I do want to add that the young men and women walking around offering coffee top ups were lovely and so kind!
