Restaurant Lanterne de Chine — Restaurant in L'Île-Perrot

Used to frequent the restaurant when it was called les 8 trésors. I moved away and came back to ile Perrot to visit and saw it was under new ownership, so I wanted to try it. I ordered something new, (duck noodle soup) and 3 classics (egg roll, Szechuan shrimp, and beef and brocoli). The duck soup was fine. Tasty clear broth, some veg and duck. The classic dishes were okay... I could see how some people would be into this, but it could've used some additional seasoning as it sorta tasted watered down. Was a bit of a bummer that they don't make in-house plum sauce for the egg rolls like les 8 tresors. Also noticed prices are higher, but portions at moment like for the beef and brocoli are smaller. Food was fine, but unfortunately didn't settle my craving for Chinese food. Hope you guys improve as you guys are a new restaurant.

P. S. Perhaps a carpet cleaning might do some good as my shoe was sticking a lot to the carpet from the...

Bad first time experience, we got takeout, I think they put one of the soup upside down, it started leaking in our car even though the bag stayed upright the whole time, I ran home with the bag dripping everywhere, the entire content of one of the dumpling soup was out of the container.

Not impressed by the food either, everything tasted like old frying oil and sugar, the combo we got wasn't well balanced, just too much fried stuff and sugary sauce, couldn't finish the food

Here's a suggestion, change the frying oil more often and make more balanced combos, add something that isn't deep fried or drenched in sugary sauce, like white rice and vegetables, to give a little...

I have ordered from them since they have opened.. and tonight my meal was not only the wrong meal but their customer service was even worse!! When I called to ( not complain) but to notify them of the wrong food order they simply told me that I picked it up and it done. I always order the Tom Yum soup which I’ve always love cause I love spice but this was behind excitable has a soup.. it was more of a spicy food challenge!!
