Disappointing Experience – Not Up to La Cage Standards
We’re visiting from Toronto and have been to La Cage multiple times in the past, but unfortunately, this visit was deeply disappointing and felt like a waste of money. As restaurant owners ourselves, we understand food quality and service standards—and this experience fell short on both fronts.
We ordered the Steak and Fries, Nachos, and All for One. All of the items arrived cold and tasted reheated. The fries were stale, the wings and chicken lacked freshness, and nothing felt like it was made to order.
We brought this to our server’s attention, but instead of acknowledging the issue, she insisted everything was fresh and even suggested we could “come into the kitchen and see for ourselves.” Initially, she mentioned she would apply a discount due to the dissatisfaction, but she later retracted that and offered no adjustment or apology. We ended up paying $105 (including taxes) for food that clearly did not meet the standards we expect—not just from La Cage, but from any quality restaurant.
This was our third visit, and sadly, it will be our last. We had hoped for better, but left disappointed both by the food and the way our concerns...

He said a passing "sorry" rather than apologizing and then didn't bother to get me replacement utensils for my meal; I had to ask another worker for them when my meal came. • One of the people at our table was served some time later; when his pizza finally came, it was at least 2 minutes undercooked. The crust was soft instead of crispy, the bagged cheese was partially melted, and he picked off the bacon because it was so raw. • Multiple times, various people from the kitchen came to our table (and others around us) and interrupted us with the wrong drink and food orders.
Food is mediocre at best - this franchise chases trends rather than just making good food.
Ambience is the only reason to come here IMO. Their patio is good, but there are a lot of bugs.
My suggestion? Just go to Archibald down the street. You'll probably even save...
Read moreThe experience was very bad!! if i could give zero star i would have done it. We were a group of 60 people and we had a reservation for 6PM. Half of the group were kids. They provided us a special menu ( I guess to make everything easier). So they started taking orders for the drinks. Most of the adults ordered alcohol drink while 2 of us ordered coke. It took more thank an hour and repeatedly follow ups before I finally get my glass of COKE!! It was crazy. The wait was long, even for the food. Some has to cancel their appetizer orders as the main course arrived first and that they said there was a “problème informatique”. It is so ODD that they served the adults first before the kids. And for the kids’ meal it took almost 2 hours. All in all bad service, long wait.
