We reserved a room in advance and were told it was in the building with the pool/gym and we could easily move across the hall because we had to change rooms the next day. We planned to stay 2 nights as our friends were at this hotel. Upon entering the lobby, we are ignored for 5 minutes, then an upset customer walks in and is taken before us. She was complaining of a poor room and demanded to be switched, The inn keeper than proceeded to give our room to this woman and said that she didn't like the view and the rooms were the same. This was complete deception.
We went to see our room and almost slipped and fell many times as the ground was covered in ice and we had a senior citizen and child with us. We were moved to a separate building surrounded in ice with a view of the parking lot instead of a field. Next, there was a heater in the hall and the fireplace was prelit as there was an undisclosed heating issue. It was very noisy and they attempted to remedy this with a popcorn ceiling. We could hear every step above us and the Wi-Fi was so slow that we could not do any work or useful internet activity at this location.
We did go to check out the original room we were promised 314, it was nicer and connected to everything.
We were unable to even use the pool/gym because it was not possible for us to navigate the cold and ice outside to make it there and back with all our stuff, The innkeeper gave up an inexpensive bottle of champagne for as she called it,"our troubles". Although, she was the cause of our troubles and would not even take full accountability. We were told that the woman that took our room was staying 3 nights and we were only staying 2, hence she received the better accommodations at our expense. Who wants to be judged by how many days you are staying? I would never go back, especially not to building 1.
On the plus side, the mattress was comfortable even though sleep was not possible due to upstairs noise. The breakfast food was actually really good.
I would stop in for breakfast. However, I would never step foot again in building 1. We went back to Chateau Bromont condominiums and were much more happy for much less money, Lesson learned.
In summary, noisy, poor functioning, no view, deceptive staff, dangerous (due to ice...
Read moreThis place was not what I expected, but in hindsight I don't know why I was surprised by my disappointment. First of all, THERE IS NO SPA at this auberge. At best, there are ascetic services and massage's available, but beyond that there is a hotel pool and a two person jacuzzi, so if you're expectation is some sort of nordic spa with relaxation rooms and fireplaces where you can sit and destress, this is not the place. This is more like a Best Western with an indoor pool.
The food was good, except for the lattes that were simply bowls of milk, but revealed a lack of customer service orientation by the management. Due to Covid, we were required to eat our meals in our room, which is totally understandable, but we were also required to go to the restaurant and carry the food back to our room, which entails walking a distance outside. Imagine having to carry your $50+/plate dinner back to your room in the rain. Better yet, imagine having to eat your food on the couch on a shared end table. If the management were interested in providing a superior experience, they would have simply delivered the food like any other hotel room service and provided a small table in the room.
Speaking of the room, it stunk of moisture. We were in a smaller outbuilding that felt like it was made of the same quality as a double-wide trailer. The floors bounced and there was a dehumidifier banging on the hallway, which was piled up with dirty dishes that the staff seemed to never clean up. Each morning we had the charming spectacle of watching the maintenance staff check the septic field in front of our patio placing the suspicion that all the humidity in our building might be more sinister than we wanted it to be.
Anyway, the staff were very nice, which was the place's saving grace. We go hiking in the area quite a bit, and we pass by this auberge on the regular. At least now we can have a good chuckle as we drive by, knowing exactly what qualifies for a spa...

We rented the suite with kitchenette and fireplace. Not many utensils. Fireplace is electric heater and not the best visual experience.
✨Price: ´ Reasonable. ✨Food: Breakfast buffet was good.
✨Evening 4 course meals at restaurant were very good as was service.
✨Service: Experience with customer service at this auberge was good during our visit
👁Weaknesses:
a) Rooms are cozy but a bit aged. We were there 4 days and hallways were not vacuumed. We were advised in advance that room service (cleaning) would not be available.
b) Pool is nice but needs a cleaning. No supervision. If you have a family who has noisy kids and does not supervise them in pool area, you might choose to leave area.
c) Jacuzzi outside is old and you are on your own to take off lid. Not very good experience in it.
d) We we’re in building whereby we had to walk outside about 50 metres-yards away to main reception.
✨Massage and manicure area = good experience.
👁Nearby Dunham pub: Good experience going there for meal, drink and...
