Musi-Café — Restaurant in Lac-Mégantic

We ordered 5 items. A Smoked Meat Poutin...it came in a small bag of potato chips. They simply cut the bag open and poured in the gravy with smoked meat and cheese cure. What's with that? Potato chips poutin, in a bag? Pathetic! My wife ordered the Chicken Ceasar. it came with the chicken breast and some sauce over the salad witch makes the salad warm. So Disgusting! My friend order the Dry Dibs. It came with popcorn as a side. Popcorn??? If ordered the Tuna Tarta with lime sauce. It came with very fine cut deep fried potatoes. The Tuna tasted nothing like it's supposed to. Can't taste the lime at all. The thin cut potatoes has no favor. Forgot the seasoning? So disappointed! Overall, only the Chicken Wings were "okay". 4 out of 5 dishes were aweful!! No, I didn't complaint to the management, because my friends live here and don't want to embrass them. First I’d like to say, we’re American. I know the US & Canadian climate is heated right now, and honestly we totally get it. We 100% get it and we hate it too. We stayed in Lac-Mégantic for two nights; it was incredible and everyone was so friendly. BUT we decided to go to dinner our last night and landed here. We were met by a female server, who once she heard English, went and got a male server. He told us the kitchen was understaffed and they were only accepting reservations, but we could stay for a drink. We sat at the bar and had a couple beers, and quickly noticed that we were the only ones denied food. We saw several other couples without reservations come in, get seated and order food. It was super disappointing and clear by the darting looks from the particular young man, that we were not welcome. Not all was lost though. The Erdinger Dunkel beer was amazing and the live music was awesome. Just wish we had some food...

2nd Visit (May '24) - had another fantastic late lunch here! Came back to the area to see the progress of the town and made sure to drop in for another meal. We started with the classic poutine which was delicious - such a great comfort food. For my lunch, I had the Bolognese Cavatelli and it was excellent. Our server was, once again, really cordial and friendly!
