The first time we visited we had exceptional service and no issues so we decided to visit again. Our first visit was on a weekday afternoon where we ordered 3 kid's menus and 2 adult entrees as well as an appetizer. I thought it was really nice the server came back on our first visit to tell us the fries weren't vegan but they could offer a side salad for my son instead. We really appreciated the honesty. The food came extremely quick that day. My one son enjoyed his Veg burger so much that he begged me to take him there again yesterday evening. Big BIG mistake...The had an awesome band playing and were extremely busy and understaffed. Apparently 4 servers called in sick which was too bad. I tried to order 3 children's menus and it was a painful 2 hour ordeal. It took 20 minutes just to take our order. I attempted to order the same children menu dishes the children got last time...2 vegan marinara pastas with no butter on the bread and a vegan burger. The server commented that there may be an up charge to the salad but I replied strange how they did not charge us extra the last visit. About an hour and 20 minutes in I offered to pay for our meals in advance to speed things up. I noticed our server only had one pasta on the tab but I didn't want to complain and slow things down so I just accepted my youngest would share. Food eventually came... my son noticed his burger was not a vegan burger like he had the last time but definitely a regular meat burger. We told our server immediately and she commented there would be an up charge to get a vegan one. This information should have been shared with us immediately when we first our order in. If I knew in advance when I first asked for his vegan burger then I would have just ordered him one from the adult menu. I commented how they never charged us extra for it during our last visit. Frustrated....I told our server just to get my son another pasta so I didn't have to repay my tab. The second pasta came back with cheese on top and garlic butter on the bread and my son noticed immediately thank goodness. If someone had a severe dairy allergy it may have not turned out so well for them. Our first experience was the complete opposite experience of what we had so I know the great potential this place has to offer especially to vegans but we won't ever be visiting on a Saturday...
Read more2/2 having read the owners response to my poor rating and comment below, I just couldn't sit by and allow it.
Nope....nothing on patio was reserved. Your server was just rude.
Your response only proved exactly the point I made in my first review....read below.
Your response is pure lies and only supports my comment that triggered you in the first place.
Take accountability for once. we all make mistakes. Your continuous refusal to acknowledge any accountability is sad. Anyone who reads any of your responses will easily develope a perception of an owner that takes zero accountability for the comfort and respect of its customers.
1/2: Read any poor review left for this restaurant, and you will see that rather than taking the high ground and accepting any level of criticism from unsatisfied customers, instead this establishment spits back wkth more slander and excuses. IT DOESNT MATTER. IF YOUR CUSTOMER IS UPSET, stay prefessional, takr the higher ground, and keep ot civil. Very unprofessional staff/owners. You can tell it's family run, and beware of "Grandma"....she stresses out over the smallest request for accommodations and makes you feel so incredibly unwelcome, or acts like your business is a complete obligation to them. As if, they don't want to be working there and your business is an inconvenience.
Simply asked, "excuse me miss, can we sit down on the patio (entire place was empty by the way) were just stopping in for a beer. "Ughh....where did u come from??? Did you not read the sign, it says please wait to be seated"....and it was pretty amusing from then on. We were refused to sit where we asked. Patio empty. We were just dumbfounded at the greeting and experience. Something so simple made so complicated that could have otherwise made a good experience for some simple out...
Read moreStayed here recently in the upstairs. It was beautifully furnished with very comfortable queen beds. Also a wonderful location. The downfalls, unfortunately it was not properly cleaned, there were boogers on the bathroom cupboards and windows(which unfortunately also hadn't been cleaned), extremely stained duvets in the single bed rooms and extremely dirty interior shower curtain that should have been replaced long ago. There were dirty handprints on the shower walls and a moldy looking anti slip mat in the tub. In the kitchen there was no coffee for the single pot kuerig and had a dirty leftover pod in it when I finally did track down the reusable pod to use it. After over 20 years in the service and hospitality industry i was a little shocked that especially just after covid restrictions were lifted that more care wasn't taken to protect their clients that payed a good deal of money to stay there. All of that being said, these are easily rectified issues and hopefully management will see this and address the issues promptly. I would have brought it up myself with them but unfortunately we stayed during a time where they weren't there. This is still a great destination!!! The restaurant downstairs was great. Friendly staff and yummy food. The only thing we ordered I wouldn't recommend would be the calamari. Which was an extremely small plate and wayyyy overcooked. The Wonton nachos are awesome. All cleaning issues aside I would go back for...
