Service was friendly and personable. A nice taste of that Newfoundland hospitality.

We ordered the mussels and the fish and chips (“upgraded” to the Mess). The portions were large and tasty. The mussels were great, but the broth was very very salty (but it made the mussels themself taste better).

The fish and chips were crisp and delicious. Ideally, the tartar sauce would be homemade instead of the kraft packets, but not all too uncommon around Newfoundland so no big complaints there.

The mess was excellent and everything would want it to be - not much more you can say about that. For some unknown reason, it also didn’t eat as heavy and decadent as you’d expect (in a good way).

The interior left something to be desired, but Newfoundland establishments are just a different breed than what you’d find in Vancouver.

Overall, I’d recommend Myrtles over all the other restaurants near and around...

Loved this place! It’s a little gem! The food was so good and the service was excellent! We had the pleasure of having Katie as our server and she was incredible! So kind, efficient and friendly! She even helped us troubleshoot our internet issues that we were having at home! She was amazing and the atmosphere was great. My husband and son played pool while we waited for our food, and I loved hearing the Newfoundland music played. We took pictures on the back deck, which was right on the waterfront and a kind gentleman took a family photo of us. An incredible day to end a wonderful...

This restaurant was highly recommended by several people. it was the worse food I ever had, fish was watery, gravy was boxed gravy which they poured over my fries and ruined them. walked into a bar/ Restaurant and owner was stripping the top of bar with stripper which smelled really strong then serving food. I ate a half piece of fish and left the rest. owner looked at my plate and said you didn't like your food. I said no and gave him my reason. He went into kitchen lady came out and checked me in, no apologies or nothing. I waited an hour to get my food and only 1 man...

Driving west down 450 from Corner Brook, you will find Myrtles on the Bay where the mussels, halibut, cod, and more are all fresh. The owner Victoria and her wonderful staff allowed me to try a mussel to start. It was perfectly cooked, salty, and so delicious I had to try one more. Choosing the halibut for a main course my taste buds were not disappointed with the freshness of the fish and crispiness of the beer batter. Only wish is there was home made tartar. With the views, warm hosting, and classic east coast vibes, its worth the drive.

As a couple of Nova Scotians who know and love seafood, we highly recommend this spot. Every dish we had was fresh and delicious. Best lobster we've ever had!! Literally helped pull it out of the ocean. Doesn't get fresher than that! We have also really enjoyed the fish cakes, seafood trio, and chowder. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. Impeccable service. Fair price and an absolutely gorgeous patio view. Can't wait to come back ♡
