My husband and I were driving through around supper time and decided to stop at the motel to stretch our legs and get a bite to eat as we had been on the road for quite a few hours. Before we decided to check out the menu online and order I went to the front desk/cash and saw an unkept short heavy set woman with short dark hair wearing a mask and asked to use the bathroom, she never once looked at me and with minimum tolerance in her voice she told me "It's only for customers.". When a kind gentleman sitting at the table beside pointed out where it was to me, I ignored the lady and went anyway while hearing her tell him (a paying customer at that) annoyingly that he "doesn't own the place". I used the bathroom, said thank you and blew a kiss to the nice man, and then we took our business else where! My suggestion is to give that dry mannered woman a lesson in etiquette and proper hosting, or get some new help because I won't ever bring our business there again and I'm sure I won't be the last. Read moreI cannot count the number of times over the years I have driven past the Rolphton Motel & Restaurant and always wondered what it is like. Today it happened that we needed to have lunch and this looked like the perfect place to stop, and we are so glad we did. Unique, comfortable, clean, welcoming, friendly, small town - pick whichever adjective you wish but I will go with "perfect". I know for certain this will now become our regular stop en route to a fairly regular trip...it is the sort of place that deserves recognition because there are few left like this restaurant in Rolphton. Now, I just have to figure out how to get there for one of their Indian Buffet nights! Thank you to the staff...you...
Read moreI love the Rolphton Motel and Restaurant. Every time I head to Northern Ontario, I eat here when I pass by!
The breakfast is delicious and the portions are hearty. The burger (the RMR and RMR Deluxe) are so very good. And the pizza is AMAZING. On my way home I ALWAYS stop and get an XL meat lovers to bring home. Even 4 hours later, it's one of the best pizzas I've ever had.
I've also stayed overnight a few times, as it's a great midway point (for me) when coming back from Timmins.
The rooms have been renovated, and the beds are very comfortable.
If highway noise bothers you, bring earplugs.
Also, this motel is located next to an Esso and a Park and Ride, so if you are an ATVer or Snowmobiler, this is a great spot to stay and use as a base for your off...
