I am a fish and chip addict. Order them in all restaurants that have it on the menu. Trying to find the perfect fish and chip. So far my hubby says my cod fish and chips were the best. I have to admit cooking with day fresh cod helped (caught it myself so it’s a fact). So obviously I ordered the fish and chips. My take, delicious! One of the best I had. Never had a halibut fish and chips before. Fish was not dry at all. The breading was perfectly fried, not greasy, melted in the mouth and still very crunchy. The fries did feel like they lacked a little love. (Having tried many time to get the perfect temperature of oil for the perfect fries and trying different potatoes) I know it’s hard, but I did expect crunchier fries. Overall very satisfied !!
I loved my beef tartar. Well seasoned, the perfect spiciness. The meat was fresh. I would say it’s one of the best I had in a restaurant.
The lobster pasta was good! A lot of lobster meat. Having made many times fresh pasta , the pasta was well cooked, could of had a little more seasoning to elevate it more as it was a small portion.
The chaudrée was ok, the cream sauce had split, but the taste was there.
Overall was not disappointed (rarely happens), meal was delicious, service was excellent. The ambiance was very welcoming and decor is well done.
Thank you, I would...
Read moreAn incredible dinning experience, exquisitely prepared local dishes by Chef Patrick Marion. It was our last evening, so we were deceived to only have experienced these creative dishes prepared with passion, only once. The “chic-shack” atmosphere is basic. Service is discreet and unpretentious. Highly recommend reserving your table well in advance, reserve for two evenings. Looking forward to discovering where this talented chef will be residing for his winter term in Montréal, before returning to these gorgeous islands...
Read moreHit and miss; nice to see a new addition aux iles with terroir offerings. Oysters gratinée are a decadent treat, but although the fish in the fish and chips is fresh and tasty, serving it in a paper bag mixed with the fries seems to make the batter soggy, which is unfortunate. Hopefully the operation will find its footing in time and become an incontournable in Havre Aubert. Prices are honest and service is friendly and well paced for savouring...
