They don't have the best view of the city or that dark, moody ambiance, so they have to make up for it somewhere, and where they make it up is in the food! When we walked in, we weren't sure if we were actually in a restaurant or if we accidentally interrupted a private function. But we were quickly ushered in and given a table, Dmitri came over to ensure that we were in fact welcome to sit and dine and when the food came, it was some of the BEST! FOOD! IN! LETHBRIDGE! Yes, dining out should be an experience for the senses, but in eating, the sense of taste and smell are absolutely most important. I don't care for restaurants that spoil my eyes but serve me garbage food. When I go to restaurants, I want to eat the best food and we could already smell the deliciousness when we were in the parking lot, but the first bite (it was a meatball) was heavenly and the meal only got better and better as it progressed. From appetizer to main to dessert, everything was flavorful and absolutely delicious. We will be back (many, many...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was back in town on vacation, and my family took me here as I hadn't experienced it; WOW. This place is amazing, Dimitri was an absolutely fantastic server, the atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, and the food is just like Babushka used to make :)
I was excited to see a restaurant that served the classic European foods that I grew up with, from both Eastern and central Europe.
I had the Pelmeni (ŠæŠµŠ»ŃŠ¼ŠµŠ½Ń) which came in a grand portion, and they were so good I couldn't find time to talk. I was sad I couldn't try more of the fare before I left town.
And for those who enjoy more north American fare, I heartily recommend the T- Rex burger. Though I warn it isn't for the faint of heart. But if you enjoy delicious brisket, beef, and bacon, all swimming in a bourbon mayonnaise sauce? You will never regret the culinary experience it will send you upon.
All in all, D&N Kitchen is a new favorite that will see me coming back every time I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile. It's a bit out of the way for us, but I'm tired of crappy eggs benny when out.
Don't let the big size scare you ,a they have large parties here also.
We ordered Eggs Benedictine and Mimosas since there are licensed. The Mimosas were average as we are used to fresh squeezed orange juice, not sure what oj was in there. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked and the sauce was AMAZING. The best REAL sauce (next to mine) we've tired in town-and we've tired MANY. My only complaint would be that the muffin was a tad bit soggy . The only restaurant around that I know of that actually does real hasbrowns and not deep fried cubed potatoes. They also have other things on that menu and the chef (Demetri) cooks HOME MADE foods including perogies and cabbage rolls. We plan on trying this...
