Pick & Shovel Pub — Restaurant in Logan Lake

Dated interior decor. Staff are very friendly. Food is nothing unique and priced about 2.00 over the norm for an entre. Short staffed before 5 pm on the day we reviewed. Many cafes and pubs are upgrading their menus and specials with fresher healthier alternatives.. this pub hasn't gotten there yet. Many establishments have learned that spending time on fresh ingredients, rather than bulk Costco style frozen food can afford bigger profits for the business... catch is... you need to invest in properly trained chefs and not cooks. Might need to introduce locals to sample platters to alter old tastes to increase profits. Never saw any posters locally to promote...

Food is pretty yummy and not too expensive. I love cheap Wednesday Wing special and also the Ceasar chicken wrap is yummy both myself and my wifey loves them also the perogi and garlic sausage plate is tasty too. Staff is nice there too... except a large waittess was rude one time would rather over socialize talking standing by other tables talking and making me wait over 20 mins to just order my food when I was low blood sugar having diabetes and shaking. Told her I needed to order to eat soon telling her I have diabetes and shaking but her reply wasnt very kind. Otherwise great...

From the island. Popped into The Pick and Shovel on my way to Williams Lake over the BC Day long weekend. Talked with a few of the locals who gave me a little run down on the town and it's history. Had a couple beers with. The staff were very nice and chatty. Love little out of the way places like this. Will definitely pop back in next time I'm through. Definitely...
