Thank you to the chef and team at La Cuisine Robicheau! I had the best scallops dinner and a homemade pumpkin cheesecake in all of Nova Scotia!
If you have ever watched the Disney-Pixar movie Ratatouille, and the food critic at the end of the movie eats the meal that brings him right back to his childhood, this was the same for me. This scallop meal brought me back to my childhood, when my Babcia (Grandmother) would make her incredible scallop recipe for me. The pumpkin cheesecake is something that my husband and daughter make from scratch (presently). This homemade pumpkin cheesecake was so light and had just the right amount of caramel drizzle sauce. It was excellent. All the desserts from this restaurant are homemade. My husband had the haddock meal and homemade double chocolate cheesecake, which was also excellent.
Stephanie provided outstanding service, including when I asked for recommendations. If you are a cider fan, I can recommend Corberrie, which is from the region.
TIP: I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time, as my husband and I were fortunate to get the last two seats in the restaurant without a dinner reservation.
I highly recommend making this restaurant a must-stop if you are visiting...
Read moreWhile the food is good, the ambiance leaves a lot to be desired. They do not have an alcohol license so you cannot buy a drink to go with dinner. You can however bring your own. I am not sure if this is legal or not? I had dined there for 2017 new year and had not reserved a table and didn't like the fact that we were up against a wall so this year we went in 2 months in advance and picked a table for three and made a reservation. Excited to celebrate New years Eve with a lovely dinner, followed by a family night in, we arrived to find the table taken and when we informed the owner we had reserved a table she looked at us and said no one reserves anything around here you sit where we sit you when I have a crowd if you want to eat here. Well now.. guess we've been told , determined just to ignore her rudeness, we took the table in a room in the back of the kitchen. Some people will do anything for the almighty dollar. So in conclusion, decent food no alcohol no ambiance and a rude owner who shows no regard for the experience of dining out. Get them in collect the money get them out repeat. The response verifies that they're just interested...

We just missed the height of the lunch time crowd, so we did not have a long wait. We both opted for the lobster roll and chowder. Both were amazing! The chowder was brimming with fresh seafood, including lobster. The lobster roll was to perfection. The bun was toasted perfectly. There was plenty of sweet lobster meat, and very little filler. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you for another fantastic meal!
Another lovely meal at La Cuisine Robicheau. The seafood lasagna and Caesar salad are not to be missed. The lasagna is packed with fresh seafood and the greens in the salad are super fresh. If you have room for dessert, the pies are outstanding.
The day I dined at Robicheau's it was foggy and humid. The fog was a pleasant way to beat the heat wave, so I opted for outdoor dining. The server was nice enough, but I didn't appreciate her yelling at me from across to ask if everything was okay. I was surprised when she didn't come to the table to ask.
Highly recommend La Cuisine Robicheau...
