This past weekend (August 10th) we celebrated our wedding on Lake Clear in Eganville. Last May (2023) we had reserved all the rooms at the Ash groove inn for our wedding with the nice lady at the front desk (Each wedding guest is responsible for their own payment), she asked for our Credit card information just to reserve the rooms but we would not be charged. Fast forward to February this past year and we got a phone call from the ash groove in saying they accidently double booked our wedding for august 10th and that we could only reserve 8 rooms instead of the entire motel. We were very disappointed but we accepted it and continued on. A few months later the ash groove in then called us back and said the other rooms became available and we could use them if we needed space still. Fast forward to this past weekend (Aug 10th our wedding day) some guests stayed a couple nights, most guests only stayed Saturday night. Here is my issue. Sunday my wife and I were charged $100 from the ash groove inn. We were told all guests would be charged separately and the only needed our credit card number to hold the rooms for the time being. We made sure to tell the staff we might not need all the rooms and to book them to other guests a week before and we were told this was okay. We even received a phone call a few days prior everyone’s stay at the ash groove, stating that there were a couple rooms that weren’t booked, and that they were going to be filled by other people if we didn’t book them. We told the lady (Chris is her name) that is okay, we don’t need the rooms and to give them to other people. After multiple phone calls to the motel trying to get this resolved and not one call back from any management, today (August 14th, @ 10:59AM) I finally received a call back from a gentleman with a strong accent(Chirad was his name I believe). I had a hard time understanding him, but what I took from the conversation is that my credit card was charged $100 because not all the rooms were booked. However, if you read through my email you will see that my credit card was NEVER suppose to be charged for any reason at all. Some key things to note from our guests stay; - Bed sheets were not changed before we got there - Mold in the carpets and around baseboards - Crumbs and hair in bed sheets - HORRIBLE costumer service - HORRIBLE ownership - Rooms were not cleaned once during a 3 day stay Every single person from my wedding party who rented a room at the Ash groove inn, had a complain about it. Some of the complaints were (Short curly hairs under the first set of bedsheets, black mold growing on the carpets and under the beds, dog hair in the beds, hair in the showers, little bits of dog food under the beds, and multiple other complaints I have heard about). Not to mention the service I myself and my wife have received from the people we were trying to give business to. I would not recommend this motel, or restaurant to my worst enemy. The cleanliness standards, the poor costumer service, and the unprofessionalism displayed from Chirad(The owner) has left such a bad taste in my mouth I will make sure myself or anyone I know in the area never uses this motel again.

Very reasonably priced place. Two can have a breakfast for $30-35. The cuisine is just regular Canadian but slightly oversalted. Available eggs, omelette (tasty one), fries, pancakes along with some salads. They also serve coffee with milk. There is a beautiful patio, where you can eat and enjoy fresh air (pets 🐩 are welcome). Also there is a dock across the road with 4 chairs to chill and feel the beautiful views. Really nice and cute place to have a breakfast. I would definitely come back for another breakfast and recommend you to try it!

My wife and I had dinner there with 6 other of our friends. The service was quick and friendly. I have the lumberjack burger and added caramelized Onions with onion rings on the side. It was very good and have it again. My wife had the chicken souvlaki and it was was pretty good, the chicken could have had some more seasoning on it but it was cooked very well. One of our friends had the smoke meat sandwich, I did try it and it was very good! I would probably order that next time, the mustard they use sets it off very well.

I am quite surprised at the negative reviews because my stay at the Inn in August was quite pleasant indeed. ||||I stayed in room 6 for three days and two nights on a mini-vacation with my father.  My sister had recently purchased property in the area and the purpose of our visit was to explore the many finger-lakes by boat.  We conveniently found a nice boat launch "around the corner" down the road from the Inn, which was perfect for our boat exploration.||||Ash Grove Inn is a roadside motel with an adjoining restaurant.||||The staff at both the motel and restaurant were very friendly and courteous.  Check-in was a breeze.  Our room was freshly painted, clean, and had various amenities:  Two very comfortable beds with quality linens, dresser, desk, television, end tables, chairs, mini refrigerator, microwave, air conditioning (and heater), and the bathroom offered shampoo, conditioner, and soap.  On the desk was various pamphlets of information including free wifi login and the restaurant menu.  ||||The restaurant offered breakfast, starting at 8am, as well as lunch and dinner.  The restaurant seems very popular and I would recommend making reservations.  The menu had a good variety of options, delish desserts and a selection of alcoholic beverages.  Even though they told that they were understaffed, we received our meals quickly.  Portion sizes were large and we arrived with appetites!  ||||The restaurant is located on the shores of the Madawaska River directly across from "Mask Island" and they offer "dock & dine" for their customers arriving by boat.  ||||Outside our room we had two private chairs and a table where we sat in the evenings reading and relaxing.  The view of the lake from our room, and from the outdoor dining area, was serene. In the evenings we enjoyed the beautiful sunsets.||||For a roadside motel and restaurant, I whole heartily recommend this place and give...

I didn't expect a luxury room, but it seems like they put the absolute minimum upkeep and house keeping into the motel. We stayed here for a weekend. The condition of the room was not great. So many things were just poorly maintained.

There was water damage to our ceiling that was "fixed" with duck tape and another spot that wasn't repaired at all. The room smelled of mildew. It also felt like they only tidied the room after visits and never actually cleaned. Nothing looked clean.

A few weird things were the lack of outlets in the room and the height of the shower head. The shower head is about 5' off the ground, making it uncomfortable to take a shower. There were no downspouts on the gutters, so every 10 feet in front of the rooms, there was a recycle bin collecting water running out of the gutter where a downspout is supposed to be.

We had 2 double beds and each bed had 2 very thin pillows. When we asked for additional pillows we were told there were extras in our room and that's all they would provide, but there were no extra pillows in our room. Same thing with towels. 2 very small towels in the room.

There is absolutely no indication of when checkout time is. It's not on their website and they didn't say anything when we checked in. Housekeeping was awkwardly poking around our room before 10:00AM on our departure day. I know they just walked into another room that was still occupied a couple doors down.

A single positive about our stay is that I checked for bed bugs and didn't find any signs.

Needless to say, we will not be staying here again, I image any other motel in the area will be equal or better quality for the price (at least I can probably get an extra pillow at any...
