I’m not from here so we decided to take a trip here with my family to visit the beach and stopped by Oda coffee. Our first experience was smooth. We decided to dine in and ordered several items, along with a variety of coffee. Some of the items ordered were shrimp cocktail, turkey sandwich with soup, guac and chips, caesar salad, cookies and cheesecake. Overall, the food was mediocre, but we were totally fine with it. What made the experience underwhelming was the service. I understand we ordered a lot, and while the server was trying to figure out who ordered which drinks, there was an additional drink that was given that wasn’t placed. As we were trying to figure out who it belonged to (we had a party of 11), the server yelled out the drink order really loud, in a very impolite and impatient tone. Our water didn’t come until the end, after asking several times. They ran out of the fruit tart so we ordered the original cheesecake. They came out with a different cheesecake, and said they ran out of the original one.
Our coffee weren’t even touched halfway. Again, drinks and food were mediocre.

My partner convinced me that we should check out the coffee and wine bar across the street, and boy, am I glad that she did! I ordered the Salmon Poke Bowl and it was stellar! For only twelve dollars, it was a very filling and healthy dish. It was a vibrant mix of many vegetables and mixed greens over a perfect blend of quinoa, wild rice, and brown rice, topped with plenty pieces of sashimi grade salmon covered in a delicious dressing and sesame seeds. They have vegan options as well, and tasty baking as well as wonderful daily specials. I paired my bowl with a Nokomis beer that was priced surprisingly well, far cheaper than I can find it back in Regina. With a wonderful waterfront view and super friendly staff, this was an exciting and relaxing treat of an experience and I would highly recommend it to any and all who make their way to and through...

Speaking of the owner, he’s a very personable guy and finds a way to talk to anyone. He would step in any time a job needed help being done, all while entertaining guests of all ages.
The food was top notch - my steak was flavorful (if a tad overcooked), and my girlfriend said she had never had ahi tuna that good before. Brunch the next day was just as fantastic - a simple, yet delicious bagel sandwich and a delightful cold brew coffee.
