Top, top, top experience – an absolute must! But be sure to book well in advance, as it’s very popular. Even the booking process was already a delight. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed right at the entrance by the owner and builder of this wonderful place, which is his retirement project. He runs the restaurant together with his brother, who is the chef. From there, you’re guided upstairs to the dining area — absolutely beautiful, with an open kitchen, a fantastic view, and a terrace where you can watch the sunset. The concept was simply brilliant, and the staff were incredibly kind and highly professional. Anyone who doesn’t experience this is definitely missing out! A wonderfully well-thought-out concept — keep it up!

What an absolute amazing experience. We had been waiting two years to do this and it did not disappoint. The views are fantastic and the meal wasn't rushed. Even with 7 courses we left feeling perfectly full and not overstuffed. We are huge foodies and every dish was perfect!! The only suggestion I would make is the addition of 3 or 4 "signature" cocktails to choose from would be great as we were looking to enjoy a cocktail before/after our meal but only had liquors and mix to choose from. We will definitely be back here and have already gifted the experience to relatives who we know will enjoy the meal as much as us.

Oh-My-God! This hidden restaurant on the coast was absolutely a gem! Chef’s 7- courses meal was just perfection! Every course was amazing, especially the mussel and oyster soup and richly creamy lemon tart. The service was 6 out of 5! All servers were very polite, knowledgeable, and helpful! And the end, the MOST important! The VIEW! The sunset view was phenomenal! Unbelievable sunset view on the horizon, which was the most romantic moment! Beware they are only 25 seats, and only open 3 days a week during the summer. You better make your reservation few weeks ahead minimum. High suggest to any occasions!

We had the pleasure of dining at Woodroad during our recent trip to Cabot, and we were absolutely blown away. As avid golfers, we were already captivated by the breathtaking vistas and incredible golf courses in the area, but we knew that to complete our trip, we needed to find a dining experience that matched the excellence of our golfing adventures. Woodroad not only met our expectations but exceeded them in every way possible.

From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant's charming decor and cozy ambiance immediately set the stage for what turned out to be an unforgettable culinary journey. The attention to detail in the interior design, with its rustic yet elegant elements, created an intimate and relaxing environment that made us feel right at home.

Now, let's talk about the food. Oh, my goodness! The quality and creativity of the dishes at Woodroad are unparalleled. Every plate that graced our table was a work of art, meticulously crafted with the finest ingredients and bursting with flavors that danced on our palates. It was evident that the chef and their team are passionate about their craft, as each dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented.

One bite into our meals, and it became abundantly clear that we were experiencing something truly special. The menu at Woodroad showcases a harmonious blend of local and seasonal ingredients, resulting in dishes that highlight the best flavors the region has to offer. Whether it was the succulent seafood, perfectly cooked steaks, or the innovative vegetarian options, every bite was a delightful surprise.

Equally impressive was the impeccable service we received throughout our meal. The staff at Woodroad were knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. From recommending the perfect wine pairing to accommodating dietary restrictions with ease, their professionalism and genuine care for our satisfaction added an extra layer of enjoyment to our evening.

Reflecting upon our trip, we can confidently say that dining at Woodroad was undoubtedly one of the top five culinary experiences of our lives. Not only did it provide the perfect complement to our golfing adventures, but it left us with memories we will cherish for years to come. We wholeheartedly recommend Woodroad to anyone seeking a dining experience that transcends the ordinary and elevates the senses.

So, if you find yourself in Cabot, make sure to reserve a table at Woodroad. Prepare to be amazed by the enchanting atmosphere, tantalizing flavors, and the warm hospitality that awaits you. Trust us, this is one culinary journey you do not...

It was really, really great - it wasn’t fantastic.

The atmosphere, setting, staff, and entire idea of the dinner is spectacular. It’s very welcoming, true Nova Scotian hospitality, there’s just 1 seating, the chef talks you through every meal and it is a wonderful experience.

The food was just good. My husband and I are full blown foodies and for the price point, we were not blown away. It was fresh and local, but we didn’t leave stuffed. An allergy wasn’t substituted with anything but just omitted altogether (mussels were left out and not replaced with anything, it was a soup with mussels so this course was very boring for me)

The cocktails were a bit of a miss as well - the old fashioned was very sweet and my “extra dirty” martini tasted more dry than dirty. I found the wine pairing to also be overpriced.

It was an excellent experience and completely unique, however it was quite overpriced for the quality and quantity of the meals. If we had spent $200 less I would have given 5 stars.

We spent the same amount at Pluvio in Uclulet BC and that dinner blew us away completely, so is what we are comparing to at bang for buck.

Hope this...

If you’re visiting Cape Breton’s west side near Cabot Links or golfing at Cabot Cape Breton, Wood Road is an absolute must. The kitchen, led by Darryl, showcases the best of local food with dishes like their signature Over the Cliff Lobster and fresh, foraged vegetables that highlight the flavors of the island. Service, led by Peter, is equally impressive – warm, thoughtful, and seamless.

Allie and Olivia make you feel instantly welcome, Brooks mixes perfectly crafted drinks, and Kate’s desserts are a sweet, memorable finish. This is more than dinner – it’s an elevated dining experience where every detail matters. Delicious food, genuine hospitality, and a true taste of Cape Breton make Wood Road a gem not to be missed.

Only 24 seats and everyone enjoys the tasting menu at the same time - different tables but the same experience - Daryl announced the dish before it is served - a very nice and personal touch.

Get there early for a cocktail and...
