This Iron Rooster Restaurant located in Marmora is a cool spot. It's conveniently located along Hwy 7, so if you are on your way from Toronto driving to Ottawa or vice versa, this restaurant is a good spot to make a stop, get some food & drinks before you continue your journey.
The name "Iron Rooster" is very fitting as the resto's signature food item is its rotisserie chicken and the owner is a big fan of motorcycle, hence you can see the logo with the rooster riding a motorbike.
PS - There is a cute little motorcycle museum right beside the restaurant that showcases some of the owners favourite motorcycle collection. When I was reading the Google Reviews afterwards, not many mentioned about this Motorcycle Museum or pics about it. This is KEY, people needs to know about this hidden gem!
In terms of food items, there are tons to choose from. We were amazed by the long list of burgers/sandwiches they have on the list, every one of them sounds delicious. The staff here were amazing! They were super friendly and they provided us with great recommendations.
We ordered the Rooster Wings and it was delicious. They give you good amount of celery and carrot sticks to munch on. The wings are crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. And it's saucy, luv the sauce!
We also ordered a beef burger that comes with fries as well as the 1/4 chicken dinner that came with veggies and I opted for onion rings instead of fries at no extra charge. I got to try the rotisserie chicken.
All of these comfort food were tasty, they came in great portion. So much food that we couldn't finish them all but grabbed brown bags. The onion rings were gigantic and they were freshly battered and fried to a perfection.
Everything is cool here at the Iron Rooster, the only small feedback I have is that they only served the typical beer such as Budweiser, Coors Light but no craft beer selections on tap. I know majority of them drink the typical beer, but it would be nice to have 1 or 2 craft beer selections on tap for patrons such as myself who luvs craft beers!
Otherwise, this is a great restaurant with good variety of food selections, good food, good drinks, good vibes, good value! We will definitely come back to check this place out comes...
Read moreWe had a wonderful experience at Iron Rooster yesterday (Father's day) on our way back to Toronto from Ottawa. My husband, our 7 month old, and I came around 5pm for dinner. We brought our high chair, but they had high chairs and booster seats as well. The staff were all very accommodating getting us a seat inside near the patio so we could get the breeze but be able to attach her seat to a regular chair as there were only high top, bat tables left out there (it was very busy and popular, for good reason!). Our waitress (Becky, according to our receipt) was also very sweet and the service was fantastic, even on such a busy night. She has had kids too so she understood exactly what we needed probably even before we did haha.
The food, was AMAZING! I can see why it was recommended so many times on the Ontario Day Trips Facebook group. We ordered the Gar Par onion rings, the fire bird wrap, and it says rib and wing combo but it was like half a chicken and 4 wings (tequila lime bbq, yummy!) (we thought it was a quarter chicken and 4 wings when we were ordering) with country mashed potaoes, brioche buns with salted butter, and coleslaw and the firebird wrap came with potato wedges since they were out of regular fries (which honestly I love wedges so that was a win!). It was plenty if food for my husband and I (and our little munchkin eating some of the chicken and mashed potatoes), and I am eating the leftovers for lunch now. 3 meals for $59.89 +tip, fantastic!
There was a change table in the washroom as well and the washroom was...
Read moreAs a regular customer I was rather put off and super offended that because my phone message notification has a flash I was thought to have taken a picture of one of the servers. I have always enjoyed eating there and chatting with the staff up until now but after this I won't be going back. It made me feel super uncomfortable that they would think I would be someone who would do that type of thing. While I get the whole privacy thing there are many ways this could have been broached without the flat out accusatory "did you take a picture". Just to show I did not do what I was being accused of I showed my picture gallery that clearly shows all photos taken today. No staff pics at all... It was very humiliating being though of and accused that way. Do yourself a favor and leave your cell phone in your car. I'm just glad my daughters weren't with me when this happened. As for the reply from them... If having a joking conversation with someone in jest you overheard offended you or made that person uncomfortable then you should have said something right there and then and I would have apologized immediately for a misunderstood or poorly made joke on my behalf. I have no issue owning up to any mistake or misunderstanding I may have made or apologizing for them either for that matter. Learning opportunity for both parties here...keep my adult humour and jokes in check and you try to use more tact in broaching perceived wrong doings. Have...
