THIS REVIEW IS WORTH THE READ! We were looking for somewhere out this way and to eat something different. We came all the way from Hamilton to eat here. It was an interesting find, a diamond in the rough. Kind of felt like it was off the beaten path, and if you weren't looking for it, you would miss it. We showed up for open at 3pm, and it seemed rather desolate from the outside. There is no real indication of where to park, but we found there was a gravel area to the side of a driveway leading out back. The place had some outdoor seating, but we chose to dine indoors. At first glance, it looks like a run-down pub built inside of a steel hangar. We were greeted promptly by a male whom was tinkering with the live music equipment with an abrupt "You got reservations?" To which we replied "No." It seemed like seating us in an empty restaurant was going to be a problem. Note to self "Get reservations next time." I'm sure they get incredibly busy closer to dinner. Once we were seated, our server (I believe her name was Nicole?) came and took our drink order, which was just water. She was a delight, great attitude, kind of brought me a mind of a blonde, glasses toting Christina Ricci. This place is family owned and operated, which is great. As a foodie, you should stay away from those nasty conglomerates and stick to amazing mom n pop shops like this. THE FOOD! The menu had a great selection and variety of items, as well as specials and menu items written all over the North wall. I was amazed with the exotic options such as Kangaroo medallions (I've eaten Roo before and it's a really good meat), crocodile schnitzel, and escargot. Don't get too discouraged by the price of some of these items, it's above normal for a meal, but you're getting food that is above and beyond normal. The wife and I decided to start with bruschetta, add feta cheese and balsamic drizzle, muscles cooked in a marinara (delicious), and I had to "hop" on those fried frogs legs with garlic and parmesan. I never had frog legs before, and the wife absolutely refused to try them, but it was her loss and my gain because they were amazing. It was like eating the most moist and soft chicken wings ever. Reading that back now sounds odd, but I promise you have to try them. For our mains, she got the wild boar with onion rings for the side, which was a great idea because they paired very well together. The onion rings are your standard run of the mill rings. The boar was topped with a creamy mushroom sauce. The boar was nice, tender, and juicy. I ordered the crocodile schnitzel with pasta and a lobster tail side. The schnitzel was phenomenal. I was however a little disappointed with the pasta and lobster tail though. The pasta was that spiral multicolored style, there was no flavor or dressing to them, it was rather plain. The lobster tail was too well done, the meat was tough, but the flavor was delicious. Well seasoned. Oh yeah, and the mains also had sides of cooked mixed vegetables. They were pretty good too. Overall, I was very impressed with the food and the variety of flavors and textures. The bill was in the area of 230$, but it was worth it. I wanted to try everything. In conclusion. I highly recommend this place if you are seeking an adventure. The more standard dishes they brought to the other patrons also looked amazing. I need to come back, and if you have not been, this is a must go. Add this place to your list Oh yeah, get reservations!

If I could give -5 stars I would! Worst service, worst food what a waste of money! Prime rib was all fat, Greek dressing was spoiled and I’m still waiting for my veggies! Our reservation of 30 ppl had to wait out side because our tables were still occupied. I had to ask the staff to clear them out and let us sit down. Now this was a birthday party for a 70yr young woman, half the party were elders forced to freeze outside waiting. My party was first to order but last to receive our meals 2 HOURS LATER! I mean we were the only patrons in the restaurant. Not to mention the server we had said she was going to be our server but she took our order and never returned! My fat came out on a single plate, no side was even provided. My ice tea was off! My Greek salad was spoiled, from the dressing to the brown romaine. No condiments, no butter, no drinks, no nothing! I had to get up and ask for my veggies, and still never received them. The servers yell out your meals to you, no organization, no professionalism, no respect! No one is expediting the food and doing quality checks! This place has gone down hill in the worst way! Ohh let’s not mention I watched the cooks handle food with no gloves, no hair nets, no hats, not even an apron on. I’ve eaten in third world countries and received WAY better service and food than this, what a dog and pony show! The server never bothered to rectify anything, she couldn’t give two sh**ts. We were treated like second class citizens here! NEVER EVER EVER EVER going to return or recommend this place! They thoroughly enjoy taking folks hard earned money!!!

We were a party of 21 who had reservations for around 4:30 I believe. They had notice we were coming by a couple of days if I am correct, and somehow there were only 2 servers on (for the whole restaurant)!!! I have to say, the atmosphere was ok, service was touch and go (as the supper hour was upon us), and the food was terrible. They offer everything from poutine to kangaroo loin! Prices for this terrible food was a huge insult to boot. Yes, inflation is a thing, so is highway robbery! The people I was with had never been there so none of us really knew what to expect. Food was cold and french fries were undercooked for everyone who ate them. It was extremely embarrassing to the couple who prepared this day for the bunch of us that were invited. I heard one person say McDonald's had better burgers, and although I didn't order ANY of their meat I would have to agree. Cool idea for a business.

I've had a lot of food from a lot of restaraunts in Toronto from greasy spoons to fancy five star restaraunts that promise the best money can buy, and most of the time those places dissapoint. Ted's is by far one of the best places I have had the pleasure of going to.

It's says a lot when even the finest restaraunts in Toronto serve portions of generic quality, dressed up to look like works of post-modern art, fail to deliver on both quality and quantity in their meals, leaving people with dissapointed palettes, still hungry stomachs, and empty wallets.

Ted's has no such issues. Their portions are beyond generous. Their exotic game menu is not just a novelty to bring people in, it truly is a wonderful adventure to try. Hands down their crocodile schnitzel with cheese and mushrooms is mindblowing. Even the classic fare is just perfect. The beef ribs beat anything I have had ever had in Toronto both in size and flavour.

This place is worth every penny. Their food is fresh and well prepared as can be. On my way in I saw one of their staff pick herbs that they seem to grow on site. Their lobster tail was fresher than anything I have had in Toronto, and I was told it's a fresh catch from nearby. If half the gourmet restaraunts even put in the same level of effort into their cooking as I have seen here they would be worth the price.

Sadly for them, this diner absolutely knocks them out of the water. I almost never do reviews but this place absolutely deserves one. Out of principle, even when I am full, I do my utmost best here to finish the main course because to me, not doing so would be an insult.

I don't care what endorsements, gimicks, or reviews any of the other restaraunts, whether they be a hole in the wall to a gourmet restaraunt with a 1 year waiting list have, my question for anyone telling me to go some place will always be "How is it...
