EDIT TO ADD
Although I do feel the need to keep my review because it still occurred, the owner has been very helpful through this and has worked to rectify the situation. My level of harshness was definitely heat of the moment and I do appreciate the effort that is being put in. Flamingo has been a staple in our household for years and knowing that they care about customer concerns and want to better their restaurant says a lot about the ownership because many others wouldn’t do the same. I would still recommend flamingo as it is arguably the best restaurant in town and I’ve never had a bad experience with them until recently and I greatly appreciate their effort.
Getting real sick of spending $120+ dollars for terrible food. If you’re that busy and can’t handle it, don’t expand your menu.
We are regular customers spending good money, and last time I ordered I got salads that were the visual equivalent of algae. Ordered again last night, and got bright pink chicken wings.
It’s pretty sickening when a restaurant is greedy enough to not give you refills on your drinks, and then to go ahead and expand the menu when they already can’t handle making the food originally on it. The rest of the food was mediocre and they have made the portions smaller, especially for what you’re paying. Flamingo used to be a great place to eat, but now I would not waste your time unless food poisoning and slop are...
Read moreIf you're in Melville and craving a casual, satisfying lunch, look no further than Flamingo Restaurant! My wife, sister, and I popped in for a quick bite during a busy afternoon, and it turned out to be the perfect pit stop. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with a vibrant vibe that makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.We were greeted by an incredibly friendly waitress who made the whole experience even better. She was attentive, full of great recommendations, and just genuinely warm. We opted for some classic comfort food: crispy french fries that were absolutely spot-on (seriously, some of the best I've had in a while. Golden, hot, and perfectly seasoned) and a fresh house salad bursting with crisp greens and vibrant veggies. Our sister went for the clubhouse sandwich, which she raved about for its generous portions and flavorful layers. That said, as someone who leans toward plant-based eating, I'd love to see more vegan or plant-based options on the menu to cater to a wider crowd. It could take this place to the next level! But even with that in mind, the quality of what we had was top-notch, and it left us all smiling. We'll definitely be returning soon for another laid-back meal. If you're nearby, give Flamingo a try. It's a hidden gem...
Read moreI had the steak and riblets special. The bbq sauce on the riblets tasted like ketchup. The steak was cooked medium rare, just as I asked. The salad was a slice of radish, a slice of carrot, a bunch of huge pieces of lettuce thrown on top, then a slice of woody tomato on top. The stuffed potato was VERY dry, and tasted old. When I went to pay, I tried to use the tap, which I found out they didn’t have… and ALLIE was very rude to me saying that it says right there in the machine. It would have been nice if they had a sign on the entrance door to warn a person, as I had left my card in my car. When I tried my card, it wouldn’t work…. Even when I hadn’t used the pin yet. I then tried my VISA, and was told the same thing. I suggested that there may have been something wrong with their machine, and another snooty waitress said that it worked for everyone else. Not a very good experience, to say the least. The only good thing was the steak, but the rest wasn’t worth me stopping there again, or referring them to...
