The Hive + Honeycomb — Restaurant in Mount Stewart

It is my first negative review ever, I don’t usually empathise on bad things, but this time I was disappointed by quite a few things.The prices are way too expensive, the place is way too tiny, and it takes too long to get your food. We brought our children to paint and have some milkshakes/ bubble waffles. We were two families 3+4 under 1 reservation, I left there $150 and my friends $200.. I think it’s too much for such a small place, have to point out to the fact that 3 of us didn’t paint. Both of us were charged 12% extra and then tips on top of the price with the extra 12%!!! If I would’ve been told that they already added a 12% gratuity to my bill I would not leave such a big tip. The waffles did not taste good, so non of the kids could even finish 1/5 of it, we took it home, but then just threw it in a trash. Also, my son wanted to bring our water bottle and went to our car to get it as my daughter was thirsty, he was stopped at the door and was not allowed to bring it in, I didn’t understand why is that.. Absolutely fantastic chance that we ended up here this evening. The food was absolutely fantastic, the service was even better - we had never been here before, and our server Tegan was so nice and friendly. She really hooked us up with the good seats, and I absolutely appreciate the hell out of a great server.

We are here for a weekend and were wandering around downtown looking for a meal - everywhere seemed so busy and so loud, with lots of people drinking and wandering around on patios. We're usually all for it, but tonight we just wanted something a little quieter. We got seated in the perfect spot, upstairs where we were nice and alone to chill and unwind after working all day then driving 3.5 hours.

Spent an hourish playing marvel guess who, eating some lovely snacks and having a super nice wind down. Could not be happier with the experience. Great for any couple looking to eat some light fare and enjoy a nice game, or bigger groups looking for something more complex! They do so many different games there's something...

We asked to sit at a table of 6 and were told no because a table of 5 might come in (that was okay, we were okay with waiting!). It took 50 minutes to get our drinks. The server brought over popcorn at the 45 min mark as an apology....the popcorn is free anyways. We asked for some water while waiting and we’re given warm water. Finally after getting our drinks, 2 of our 4 food orders came out. We ate it all before our other two arrived. She also provided only 2 napkins (no plates or anything) for 4 people. The food was mediocre, and we sent our spinach dip back. Our server explained with the recent Covid shutdown the kitchen staffed froze much of the food, including heavy cream, and they realized some things didn’t freeze well.
