Guide for Brides: If you want an elegant, unforgettable, relaxing weekend wedding, Mrs. Mitchell's is a must! Heidi and her team are so experienced, you'll end up doing much less work while still getting a seamless day that you can enjoy fully, knowing the details are in more capable hands!

Cost Savers: The restaurant and grounds are so lavish I didn't do any decorating, centerpieces, places settings, or seating charts. You give Heidi your table list and her staff directs each guest to their table as they enter the reception. I skipped an expensive DJ and made a fun Spotify playlist, put a couple people in charge of it, and the dancefloor was packed all night.

Food: Heidi's hors d'oeuvres, bespoke cocktails, and four-course meal were to die for! My guests are still gushing to me about the food. Her weddings are done with a personalized menu that allows guests to choose their meal on the spot; saved me a lot of hassle chasing down rsvp's!

Cost: Less than we'd imagined! Her space is so beautiful and her food is so good, we weren't sure she'd be in our budget. We'd been looking at a LOT of venues before finding Heidi. So, I can honestly say, I've done the research, you will not find a better VALUE!

Weather Back-Up: Worried about your ceremony getting rained out? We booked the historic chapel on the grounds of the Museum of Dufferin as a rain backup for an extra $700. We didn't need it, but we were covered if the weather went sour.

The Cottage: Heidi offers an 1870's historic church-turned-cottage for rent to her brides that's 5-doors down from the restaurant. This space is a cross between historic house and chic magazine cover! I booked it for the Friday and Saturday night. She was very flexible about when we checked in and out, so I made a 3-day weekend of it. The Friday, my maid of honor and I stayed there, relaxing, snacking, getting our nails done in Alliston, and wandering the cottage gushing about its decor. Saturday we got our hair done in town and came back to set up refreshments. An hour before the ceremony my photographer and most of the women from our two families came to the cottage to get ready, have pictures taken, and surround me with love. My husband and I spent our wedding night there and most of Sunday relaxing.

Sunday Brunch: Your wedding day will go by so fast, so we wanted to extend the experience. We invited all our guests to join us for a casual brunch at Mrs. Mitchell's at 11am on the Sunday. Almost half of our guests rsvp'd and we had a lovely time. Brunch was amazing, of course! And a lot of our brunch guests came back to the cottage with us to catch up and wish us well.

Little Extras: I hired a string trio for the ceremony and a photobooth for after dinner. My guests spent the reception spread between the dancefloor, sitting at the tables in the garden watching the stars, and taking silly photos at the photobooth that was also in the garden. Most of our guests are from the city and they could not get over how beautiful the grounds and the village were! The space alone makes it an...

Having read all the reviews, we decided to try it for a family brunch. Our reservations were for 1:00pm. We arrived a few minutes early and despite the fact there were visible empty tables, we were told that our table was still occupied and asked us to wait. 15 minutes later we were seated. We placed our orders and anticipated a wonderful meal. Being foodies, we had reviewed the menu online and knew exactly what we wanted. The server approached our table and seemed ready to place our order. We attempted to order our meals and was told she was just taking drink orders. When tlshe determined there were none, she then accepted our food selections. It took a full hour for our food to arrive. I ordered the large Ceasar Salad with shrimp. The online menu shows two grilled jumbo shrimp. My husband ordered the Rueben on house made marble rye. My salad arrived and had 4 shrimp that I would describe as cocktail size at best. The salad only filled half the bowl and was not particulary special. The croutons were so hard I could not eat them for fear of cracking a tooth. At $26 it was disappointing to say the least when my own is better. The Rueben was of high quality but the rye contained carraway seed which my husband detests. There is no mention of carraway on the menu. Halfway through his sandwich he was asked to leave the table and move his car as another patron was having difficulty exiting their spot despite having ample room. The server informed us that they were a nervous driver. The actual problem was another patron who parked in between the two handicapped spots but they were not asked to move. His food was cold upon his return. At no time did the server return and ask how we were enjoying our meal. The expetience was not what was the reviews reflect. We do not plan to frequent this...

If you're planning to dine at Mrs Mitchell's restaurant for brunch on a Sunday, it's highly recommended to make reservations beforehand, as the seating is limited and tends to get pretty full. The service is quick and courteous, ensuring that you have an enjoyable dining experience.

As soon as we were seated, we were pleasantly surprised when the waiter served us with some delectable scones and mini muffins, even before we had ordered any food. To complement our meal, we decided to try their famous mimosas. My wife had the orange classic mimosa, which was freshly squeezed and absolutely delicious, while I opted for the mango mimosa, which was equally impressive.

Moving on to the mains, my wife ordered the Filet of Sole, which was cooked to perfection and had a generous serving size. I opted for the highly recommended Reuben sandwich, which turned out to be a delight for my taste buds. The meat was of exceptional quality, and the sandwich was both tasty and filling.

The restaurant itself has a very quaint and cozy ambiance, making it an excellent fine dining option. It's located about an hour's drive north of Brampton, but there's ample parking space available near the restaurant. Overall, Mrs Mitchell's restaurant is highly recommended for anyone who enjoys quality food, great service, and a lovely...

We had a special dinner here celebrating our anniversary. The charm of this place is quite nice. The food and drinks were great, an the service was good. Maybe it was me, but I felt the hostess and the servers were a bit on edge. This made me feel like I was on edge. They were not unfriendly, just a stiff vibe. After my beautiful French Martini I relaxed and didn't worry about it anymore. The presentation of the drinks and food was amazing. Great for review photos. We ordered the Hummingbird & French Martini. Both wonderful. For appetizers we enjoyed the Warm Baked Brie and Smoked Wild Mushroom soup. These were both very very good. Our main course consisted of the Shrimp & Scallops and Veal Saltimbocca. The veal was overcooked and not very unique. I've had better tasting Veal Parmesan in less expensive restaurants. This was my only real disappointment. It wasn't enough to give 4 stars, but if I could it would be 4.5. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for a beautiful night out.
