The Depot — Restaurant in Municipality of Emerson – Franklin

We are so pleased with the new management at the restaurant! We had a wonderful meal at the end of our golf game last week. Last night we got home late and while we love the other restaurants in town we felt like pizza. Our normal go to is Santa Lucia in Morris, but we just were not up to the drive so we called the depot….7:40pm. They close at 8. I hesitantly asked, if it was too late to order a pizza? The reply was “no no, not at all!” So we ordered two small pizzas, when I arrived at 5 minutes to 8 the waitress said it would be a few more minutes as they had had to make fresh dough for the pizza! That’s how fresh our pizza was! Absolutely amazing pizza! And for them to go the extra mile like that? To not just take an order that close to closing (in this day and age where most would have said “sorry the kitchen closed early”) but to take the order knowing it meant having to make fresh dough? INCREDIBLE!!! Their pizzas are simply awesome, just like their service and always happy and smiling to see you!

We each had a burger platter. Burgers were good, obviously hand made and a good size. Fries were tasty. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to add a side of cole slaw as an option...perhaps some excellent kimchi? I think that would be the perfect taste to incorporate into the menu! Our family and friends ate at the depot last evening. There was 14 of us and we all sat together. The food and service was excellent. Staff were friendly and efficient and our waitress was exceptional. Can’t wait to eat...
