Knowing that "American Cheese" (pasturized processed cheese slices) upset my stomach, I specifically ASKED prior to ordering anything, "What kind of cheese do you use?"... The owner(?) said, "Cheddar." I told them, "Great, because processed cheese upsets my stomach, I get very sick." (No gallbladder for many years)
It was NOT, in fact, Cheddar, but processed cheese. All yellow coloured cheese is NOT Cheddar cheese, if anyone really cares. My gut certainly does.
The cheese on the burgers is processed slices, and on the cheese fries, it seems to be processed shredded cheese, too. We had been on the road for some time and still had over an hour to our destination. We really didn't want to cause a scene discussing the finer merits of cheese legitimacy.
By the time we reached our destination, both me and my husband were having terrible cramps and confined to our hotel room until things could "clear out."
Ignoring the cheese debacle, the food is pretty basic, and I've never had plainer, more flavorless fries anywhere in my life. Fresh cut potatoes for fries, but even with "cheese" had no flavor until we added ketchup.
Very kind and nice staff, clean restaurant and dining...
Read moreTwice this wk I've been in the beach hut. Breakfast was cooked perfect and plentiful. Later in the wk happened to be a dinner time of day. The fries were goddammit awful. No potatoe left on any. Fried to a crisp and more. The clubhouse sandwich had the most pathetic skimpy piece of lettuce I've seen on a sandwich in a long while. No cheese. Slathered with mayonnaise and the smallest loaf they could find I think. I was very disappointed in the price I had to pay and the morsels that were delivered. I will co tinue to try beach hut as Killarney has so little choice now but please appreciate value for money and the portions should be adequate. Not painfully cooked that you bin more than can be eaten. Thank you for continuing to provide a service of sorts. I do love the crazy golf and it's always 1 of my favs when I visit Killarney if time and work...
Read moreI've been a long-time customer, but I've had issues from time to time. I'll share my experience, and you can make your own choice to go or not go.
Food Quailty : Depending on what you order, the food can be a hit and miss. I'll say the potato wedges are the best item on their menu.
Quality of staff: They are always changing staff members due to rotations with seasons and students going back to school. ( the staff is usually new each time).
Atomsphere: The menu board has been the same for a few years on TV screens. They could switch it up and add new items, and change the look of the menu. It's a bit crowded at times.
Overall It is a 3/5. However, it really depends on your experience with who you are served by, who cooks your food, and...
