Travelled here by bicycle from Winnipeg. Twice this summer , in the first and last weeks of June. The first time was very warm so the ample mature trees on the property were a welcome source of shelter from the sun. Newly renovated washrooms took everyone by positive surprise at the quality and cleanliness. An extensive but not overwhelming menu has exciting options for every person in your group. I sampled the deep fried pickles, chicken fingers, and their fries with the house seasoning. Everything was delicious. And it made me look forward to the second time I was returning. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. I felt welcomed to be a customer.

I really enjoyed the hint of spice on the Cactus Cut Fries and the creamy Asiago Caesar Dip to cool it down. The peanut butter milkshake was also tasty and something I'll probably order every time. My boyfriend got the Chicken Finger Dinner; the portion was generous and the fact that they even buttered the dinner bun was a nice touch. Online ordering was convenient ($0.95 service fee) and, although they were incredibly busy, the team seemed to move quickly and were constantly announcing the pick-up orders on the loud speaker. It's also notable that L & J's Drive Inn is the only one I've been to recently where staff are wearing masks, so thank you!

We go to L&J's all the time but I don't think I've ever seen it as busy as it was today. There was a line to order and then a 20 minute wait for food. We had seasoned fries, cheese burgers and milk shakes. The cheese burgers were average, nothing special. Fries were good and portions were large. The milk shakes were a good consistency, but the vanilla flavor was a little off. They have plenty of parking space and a lovely park like area around the drive-in. It's really a nice spot to stop for a meal.

Will always drop by when on the number 2. Food is always fresh and consistent. Ice cream options are plenty. Full outdoor seating and grass area. Swing table with double benches to add to the challenge of eating ice cream on a cone; most likely will end up on face and clothes. Love that they use McCain crinkle cut fries. Always better when deep fried vs at home oven. Chicken fingers breading is flavourful and sizes are standard. Honey dill sauce available. Couple of signature desserts available. Worms and dirt recently introduced. kid size is plenty for anyone wanting a quick treat. Large if you’re feeling depressed and need a cry with a messy ice cream treat. Will make you forget all about why you were sad in the first place; sometimes, until the ice cream runs out and back comes the sadness. Prices are fair and comparable to today’s...

Food, ok, a bit pricey for fast food. Some cranky staff wanted to charge me $1 for a glass of water despite it being 30 degrees and me offering a refillable bottle, they refused insisting I needed to pay for their disposable cup which I indicated I didn't want, I asked for the manager who said the same thing, when I protested they eventually said I could use the tap on the side of the building to fill my bottle, which I did. I had 2 small children with me and it was super hot. I understand needing to charge for the cost of cups, but a $1/cup is now profitable. I tried to explain to both employees how unethical this practice was, especially since I was willing to provide my own container to take the water away in, they wouldn't hear it. BAD...

This is the first, and perhaps only restaurant between Spruce Woods provincial park and Winnipeg on the #2 hwy, so there's a good chance that if you're considering it, your options may be limited.

The burger patties were not large or heavy. They were flat but kind of pan crispy and tasty. The bun was decent and condiments were plentiful without being soupy.

The deep fried mushrooms were hot and delicious, though as is standard, $5 doesn't get you many.

The chicken fingers were a decent size, well cooked, although a little too salty. It should be mentioned that they had honey dill dipping sauce available.

The fries were bland crinkle cut affairs and although they were cooked well and not greasy, they were probably the...
