Millstone Grill — Restaurant in Murray River

Okay the lack of our Ferry Service has been hard on locals and visitors alike. But instead of wailing about it. Do something about it!

Entice people. Have your beautiful flowerbeds weeded. Place your tables more strategically and please if I ever see another waitress, the owner, with short shorts on I will walk out!

Short, and I mean short, shorts are not a becoming attire in a restaurant no matter the heat.

However the owners are very pleasant and very vocal about the problems in the area.

Now getting to the food. KThe menu claims that the fries are famous……well. They weren’t very good that day. However I had the best onion rings and breaded haddock that I have had in a long time.

Prices are a bit dear but the quantity is good.

I didn’t check out the washrooms for accessibility but their front door isn’t.

We might go back again. We’ll just have to...

This is the first time I've written a review on google and it is entirely to rebut the notion that this place is not kid friendly. I brought my 11 month old son here and the chef could not have been nicer. He brought over a high chair, book, plastic cup... he even gave our son frozen ice treats. After dinner when we were cleaning up some of the crumbs and things he dropped, the chef came over and told us, "It's my job to clean up... that's why you go out to eat!"

By far the nicest people on earth run this place. The food was great... highly recommend the fish and chips as well as the mussels. The lobster roll was a little mayo heavy for my tastes, but everyone has different tastes. Roast beef dinner was very good... like something you'd get in an English pub.

If I was staying another day in PEI...

We took my grandparents to Millstone Grill on a recent visit to Murray River. The food was excellent, and our server was very friendly and helpful. We had several of the pasta dishes (all excellent), a small pizza (very tasty, but the cheese was a bit over-browned), the stir fry, and fish and chips. The kitchen very accommodating to various dietary restrictions, and everyone enjoyed their meal. The only reason I'm not rating our experience a 5/5 is that the kitchen seemed to be short staffed so the food took some time. But, the quality of the food was worth the wait. I would definitely go back, and recommend this...
