Our family and friends group of 8 recently visited the Big Axe Brewery to have a couple of drinks and some food. The waitress was very nice, but was clearly overloaded with the amount of people she needed to service. It took more than 30 min to just put our order in for drinks. After almost 1 hr we got our drinks and then she took our food orders. After another hr waiting for our food and seeing other people that arrived after us get their food first, we expressed our dissatisfaction with the kitchen manager Andrew( I think that was his name and title). He was very rude and clearly did not know or was trained on how to deal with frustrated and agitated customers. In the end the food was very good, but there is a clear problem with kitchen process and capacity. There should also be more staff to serve people and a manager on-site to support the staff when surges happen. Not sure if we will go back again under the current conditions. Such a shame considering the food and beer...
Read moreI visited this location as a group of 4. We entered the location and it was absolutely beautiful, the inside is amazing, bathrooms were so clean.
We ordered our drinks/food but unfortunately we had to wait over 40 minutes to receive the food.
One of our drinks was also delivered to the wrong table and place right underneath someone’s face.
Of course I understand kitchens can get busy and especially with so many orders things can be confusing sometimes.
We ordered nachos and french fries. We got our nachos first then the french fries didn’t come out for another 10 minutes which they were for my child and he had to watch while some of us ate the food.
We also noticed people that ordered after us received an order of fries before we did.
Nothing made sense and we were really looking forward to visiting this location.
Very unfortunate and we are unsure if we will return in the future.
One of the staff members was very polite and apologized...
Read moreWe had our wedding ceremony and reception at Big Axe Brewery in June 2023. Pete, Krystle, and the rest of the staff went absolutely above and beyond on our wedding day to make sure things went as planned. They met with us frequently before the event and worked with us to brainstorm ideas. All of our guests were so impressed with the venue (along the Woolatoq River!) We had amazing pictures inside the brewery with all the tanks inside the gorgeous wooden building. And despite the rain, Big Axe made the pictures, the songs, the dances for the bride and groom - it all worked. they made sure we had the best day and they were exceptional in working with us to make everything work smoothly. Even when we were caught us talking to a great aunt, they would just worked with the people around us and never made us feel troubled! I can't recommend them enough for your...
