Food was great. Table service was great. Would have been 5 stars but the service by the hostess was far below what I consider even passable. Was rude and not much caring when my 78 years old dad walked from parking lot in wearing his oxygen concentrator. He has C.O.P.D. and was told we couldn't sit at the table because our table was still missing two people. It was as hot and humid as could be. So we struggled him back to the vehicle to wait a couple of minutes for them to show. All have both Covid-19 Vaccinations plus waiting time was up and mask. Now if it had of been my decision we would have left and went elsewhere. I can most likely say I will not eat at that one again due to the rude and uncaring of the hostess that evening. Way to go hostess. Even the long wait for food never bothered us but your rudeness did!!!! Update ** Well was talked into going back and I am happy I did. Looks to be many new staff there is much friendlier. Only thing I can say prices are very high. Yes I know everything has gone up but there is a point where it becomes too much of an increase. I have said I do not mind paying for good food within reason that is. Was the breakfast good? Yes it was great again but nearly $22 plus tip, for breakfast is well over priced as breakfast is pretty hard to mess up. Would I go again? Yes...

The food is sensational, the resturant is very clean. The service is very speedy., but only one big problem.. that me and my family and my familys family members have noticed is. That most of the woman waitresses love to gossip to much, talk about things that the customers can hear them talk about. Me and my family has noticed and wittnessed some of the older waitresses talking about their very own co workers in a bad way. Making judgemental coments about there customers that come in to sit down to eat. There is too much gossip and too much judgements being made by staff.. against their customers. Shouldnt matter what a person looks lik when they walk in there, shouldnt matter what the person is wearing, shouldnt matter weither the person is skinny or over weight. We are paying customers, we enjoy and love coming to ur resturant. But at times have turnt away to go elsewhere because of this foolishness. It gonna start being reported. Theres lik 14 in my own family alone, my girlfriend.. her kids and my own our brothers n sisters. We will be starting to report these incodents as we see n hear them again.. there is no need of it. We like to enjoy our stay, not get bad vibes everytime we leave the New Minas...

Nice experience. Although we have eaten at most restaurants around the valley we have always kind of overlooked the Big Stop in New Minas. A family member ate there and got the fish and chips and was extremely impressed with the huge portion and freshness of the fish so decided to grab supper there. There is lots of great items on the menu and many great "home cooked country meal" options which I love. I got the roast turkey dinner and my other half got the breakfast skillet. We both very much enjoyed our meals. The service was great, lots of staff to look after everyone which was good to see, they were all very friendly and our waitress was very knowledgeable when notifying her of a peanut allergy. We got our food about 10-15min after ordering which was very good. Didn't order dessert but after peering into the dessert fridge on the way out and seeing the beautiful pies, cheese cakes etc... Kind of regretted not ordering... but still make sure to get a piece of pie next time we stop. Two cups of coffee plus our meals came up around $37 after taxes and before tip. Very much recommended this place, we will...

Big stop restaurant is usually my go to for a good club house sandwich but tonight it was just disgusting. My sandwich looks like it was cut with a knife that had mustard all over it (made it taste horrible). As well as pickles on top of it which I have never had on their clubhouses before. We were also told our fries that came with our burger and sandwich couldn't have the extra toppings we wanted added. So we had to order the poutines seperate, which costed us $13.99 each on top of our sandwich and burger that costed over $10 each. Instead of the meals for $13.99 and $14.99 with extra charges for our fries toppings. Our meal all together for a sandwich, a burger, 2 poutines and tai bites costed us over $70. I love the big stop but was very disappointed tonight.

Had a bad experience the second I walked in. Took 10 minutes to even get acknowledged and I literally “pointed” to my seat. Waitress came and from there I asked for a coffee. Another 10 minutes later she finally came with the coffee and the menu. And it just went downhill from there. Ordered a garden salad with shrimp and when it got to my table, it was literally lettuce with 3/8 of a tomato and 3 carrot shavings. The worst were the shrimps, they were dry, minuscule, seemed like the were deep fried in a pool of butter, and clearly were reheated in the microwave. They were overcooked and overly greasy. Didn’t touch them after trying the first bite. From there, the waitress was nowhere to be found until she came with the bill. Would NOT recommend
