We were visiting Trilingate a week ago, and decided to try this place for lunch based on its high rating. It totally exceeded our expectations. We were a group of 3 families. Our family ordered a 2-lb lobster meal, snow crabs and chicken nuggets. Lobster meal is a relatively simple dish, but they made it to perfection: perfect saltiness and perfect tenderness. The side garden salad was so fresh and tasty. The garlic butter dipping sauce did a great job of neutralizing the richness of the Lobster meat. The Lobster meal easily deserves a 6 star rating. My wife's snow crab was also perfectly cooked, not salty like many other places. I was surprised to see my 12 year old son, a picky eater, finished his chicken nuggets in a couple of minutes and the fries in another couple. He said they were great. Not only did they have superb food, they had an excellent view of the sea. The waitress was friendly, efficient and professional. The prices were very reasonable. Their lobsters were all live, from their huge warehouse next door. The other two families had the same satisfaction. When we finished our meal, we said to ourselves, "Let's eat here again for dinner". Unfortunately we didn't come back due to itinerary and schedule constraints, which we regretted later. The best Lobster meal ever. The only catch is that this place seems to take cash only. Bring some cash if you...

Ate there for the first time tonight and I WILL NOT be back!!

I specifically asked the waitress (who I later found out was one of the owners) whether I should get the seafood pasta or the seafood chowder and scallop dinner, since I was hungry after hiking all day. She said get the seafood pasta since it was more filling, so I did. They eventually brought out this relatively small, very shallow bowl of seafood pasta, and the bowl had a 1.75 inch wide rim on it (where there was no food)!! Others around me ordered the seafood chowder (which cost about $ 12.75) and the bowl for that was considerably deeper and held more food than the seafood pasta bowl (which cost about $ 27.95). WHAT A RIPOFF!!

I mentioned it to my waitress (the owner) upon finishing my meal, and she didn't seem to care at all and said "well, you can order more food." I told her that when you spend $ 32 (taxes included) on a meal, it should fill you up!! Also, approximately 75% of their seafood pasta is PASTA (which is cheap), with only about 25% being seafood!!

Time for some caring, more generous competition in the...

I have been to this restaurant numerous times and each time the food has been exceptional. Calamari and fish cakes are excellent. My parents were visiting and I insisted we eat at this restaurant. It was a beautiful day and we decided to eat on the wharf, but we were sternly told by the manager that if it got cold and the tables inside were filled, we would not be able to come back inside. We decided to take our chances but it seems there had been an incident the night before. Another member of staff very rudely told us the same thing and proceeded to tell the other customers that we shouldn't be going outside. I had to convince my parents to stay because of the unkind way we were treated. Thank goodness for our server, Audrey. She was a ray of sunshine and made us feel welcome. Overall our experience was good, but your customers should never be made to feel like they are the accountable for the problems you've had with...

Came across this gem during our visit to the Twillingate area in Newfoundland. This restaurant on the waterfront is located a short 15 minute drive and has clear signage from the highway. It is frequented by the locals and is very popular. The staff is amazing and very pleasant. One can choose the lobster from the pool and they would cook it for you. I chose the lobster dinner which had besides the lobster, a drink, a side and dessert. The lobster was amazing and the partridgeberry pie was lovely. It was $35 for the 1 and 1/4 pound lobster, which was enough for me. The other members of our party had the fish and chips which were cod and very nicely done. Topped it with a local beer, the whole experience was great. Our server, Jasmine was a sweet person and her positive attitude resonated with the great atmosphere of the restaurant. Totally recommend a visit if you are in the area.

2 months have passed since we ate at Sansome’s and I’m still dreaming about their seafood dishes. All were beyond expectations. If there is a level higher than ā€œfreshā€, they would have it. The restaurant is situated right beside a body of water and so having a superp seafood meal while looking out their large windows is one of the best experiences I’ve had in Newfoundland. We had the cod bites (best!), the lobster roll with chunks of fresh lobster meat, the chowder and the seafood fettuccine (can skip this, it was so so) Prices are reasonable for he quality you get. The lobster pool is at the entrance so we passed by the 2 roofed areas where workers were fishing out lobsters. Amazing. Service was quick, excellent and friendly. I wish there was a Samsone’s in Toronto. I would be in there every week.
