I want to like this restaurant so much but after giving it 3 tries I just don't foresee going back. We walked up to the window to order our food - there is a menu board up there - the owner chased us off telling us she would come take our order. Fine, but she didn't give us any menus so when she came over we had to go back to the board. I guess she thought we had photographic memories but we don't. No big issue but annoying...we got our naan bread earlier than the rest of our food for some reason. I am not going to tell this lady how to make naan bread by any means but it really seemed more like a tortilla than any other naan bread I have ever had. The naan bread was cold by the time the food got to us which actually was a match for the condition of the food....I don't know if their heat trays don't work or if it just sat around too long but I sent mine back to be microwaved :/ My husband being more hungry and more tolerant ate his cold but he wasn't happy. Once the food was heated it was tasty but they aren't generous by any means. So ho hum -...
Read moreIf you told me as a kid North Battleford would have a Indian Restaurant I woulda laughed. However, having traveled the world I did develop a taste for indian food and am so grateful this is here. I hope it carries on and i do my best to support it.
This restaurant is perfect to get all the flavours that constitute indian cuisine. I only ever stop in for lunch, since other family members have not acquired the taste just yet. The lunch combos work, the food portion is large enough to get me through the day. During lunch, You get a selection of choices that have all been great. When I bring work crew in the lady offered extra bread at no charge. It was awesome, my crew that day is now acquiring the taste
Oh, During lunch I ask for the pan fried bread, since the Naan is not available.
Socially, as a indigenous person I feel welcome at Dejma's and the conversations are always enlightening. They also have a bollywood music channel on tv that helps...
Read moreDejma's Curry House was my first real Indian food experience and I have to say it was spectacular! The exterior storefront is almost unsuspecting and easy to miss, but if you pass by while the doors are open the aromas wafting into the street will certainly pique your interest. Walking inside, the smell is incredible. The interior is certainly small but when you serve food this good you'll draw in customers anyway. Speaking of the food, if you're new to Indian cuisine try the taster platter. Expensive, yes, but worth it to find your favorites on the menu. The price is probably the only potential con I can think of; for multiple items it can add up quickly, but I'd still say that food this good comes at a premium (not to mention that you can still get lunch at Dejma's for the same price as some fast food places in town) and it's definitely worth the asking price. Truly one of the hidden gems of the...
