The Lion Rampant Scottish Pub is situated right next to the waters with a wonderful view and a huge covered patio. One of the main reasons we’ve go back when we visit Duncan. The food is very standard pub fare, they do some good burgers, mac & cheese and etc. The burgers were seasoned well, and juicy. The food seems to be fairly consistent each time we visited. Prices are also very family friendly, with big portions. They also have interesting beers on tap. Service can sometimes be a hit and miss. As it’s very casual, you go in and sit yourselves, sometimes you could wait awhile before you get your server. It also depends how busy the restaurant is, which is understandable. While the view is excellent, the inside of the restaurant can use an update. The tables and chairs can feel greasy at times, the washrooms can use an update as well, but over all the restaurant is clean and organized. If you do go to Duncan, check this place out and give it a try. We only go during the day as you can take advantage of the view the best, but it is quieter during the day. So if you like a crowded pub atmosphere, then I recommend going at night.

My wife and I went in on customer appreciation night had a few beers and sampled some red arrow beer and enjoyed some finger food such as pierogies and samosas, but because it was so packed we had to order our haggis poutine to go. I've been to this place a couple times before the food was great the staff were great very fast service, it's just a shame that the owner is in Aberdeen supporter LOL other than that it's a great place to order haggis they really could use more haggis on each of their dishes, it seems like they had skimped out on my haggis poutine. They put it on like a seasoning... Lol Haggis should be more prominent!!

Ugh. Why is it so hard to make good food? Nachoes, poutine, mac n cheese, fish n chips, and clubhouse. All very mediocre. Fish was soggy (oil was dripping off) like the oil wasn’t hot enough and/or fish was frozen. Clubhouse bun was dry. Nachoes were over cooked. Mac n cheese was the best thing on the table, but it was nothing to write home about. View on the patio is great. Come for a beer and the view, but skip the food.

Edit: appreciate the reply from the pub, but the food is an issue based on several reviews. We weren’t anticipating it to be great and because of that, we didn’t say anything to our server. We weren’t going to send everything back. Rather than asking why nothing was said to a server and listing an excuse for delayed food, hear hat your customers are leaving a review of bad food and address it. The food is not good. There are several excuses regarding poor food reviews: we were slammed, one cook left... the night we were there was very quiet so even if a cook left, it’s not like it was crazy busy for the other cook. Yes our food took a while, but it wasn’t a big issue for us. Having worked in this industry, casual excuses aren’t going to keep your business open. There were people smoking below outside the liquor store, which should not be happening (smelly smoky patio) and was never addressed. These are things staff should notice (customers shouldn’t have to complain). Beautiful setting and interior is nice too. The owner/manager of this place needs to get onsite and sort out what is happening. This place...

On Jan 6 2018 I walked in to this establishment sat at the bar and ordered a beer , all good so far ? When I heard a noise coming from the kitchen I turned to notice the chef was swinging a small frying pan at some flys !! I was stunned ,, so I called over Kaylee the bartender and asked her if you guys are having fly problem just as we both looked over to see the chef now swinging a dirty broom around the kitchen that just happened to smoke a baked potato clear off the prep table onto the floor ,,, I said see this is unacceptable, Kaylee the bartender just looked at me without a word walked about 10 feet away and layed her head on the bar and completely ignored me ,, I was going to just walk out without paying for my beer since I had only had about three sips but decided to be the bigger person on this so I said Kaylee how much do I owe you and without even raising her head she yells out 6.75 like I was the one ruining her evening,, good lord I’ve never ran across someone who hates there job as much as this cold hearted bartender,, who clearly is in the wrong profession,,, honestly she should take some lessons on customer service from the good folks at McDonald’s as I left there feeling disgusted and confused as to how these people keep there jobs ,,, and wondering how many people eat food out of this fly infested kitchen??? I know one person that will never return here and will spread the good word on FB to warn my friends & family that live in...
