Incredible and fantastic culinary experience at the Linden Leaf Restaurant. We found out about the restaurants soft opening this week and decided to drive out and check it out. Helga and her daughter Paige have hit this one out of the park! The restaurant is easy to get to via Highway 416 and is two minutes from the exit on the main road to Oxford Station. Plenty of parking and then when we stepped in, WOW...what a beautiful restaurant, nicely decorated with a comfort feeling and very clean. They did a great job decorating the restaurant. Every aspect of the meal was perfection and very tasty. Paige's service experience was clearly evident providing excellent customer service throughout our meal and making great recommendations on the wine pairing with the food that we ordered. The Green Pea soup was fantastic and a generous portion. We both ordered the Schnitzel and it was perfectly pan fried and seasoned, and it came with very tasty sides. Kudos to the chef (Ryan) for capturing the essence of tasty and comforting European cuisine. Everything was perfectly presented. The Schnitzel was so fresh and moist that it reminded me of my mom's cooking when I would eat the Schnitzel almost right out of the pan before it had time to cool down. The deconstructed strudel for dessert was a perfect close to a great meal. It came with ice cream and a blackberry (picked from their garden) coulis on top. The whole meal was very reasonably priced and the portions were substantial so we definitely didn't leave hungry. What a special and warm place, we wish Helga and Paige the best success and we will definitely be back soon. All we can say is....check it out and spread the word about this special...
Read moreThe German word for incredible should be Lindenleaf. This place is for real. Just an absolute delightful location, beautiful in the softly falling snow.
But you don't care about that. You care about the service and the food. The service is peak German efficiency mixed with warm Canadian vibes. The entire staff is excellent, and local, and authentic. Truely lovely human beings, inside and out. A place you want to support.
And I haven't even gotten to the food yet. Best Caesar salad I've had in Canada. Just scrumptiously delicious with a neat mix of homemade croutons and to die for bratwurst. So clever, so divine!
Who the heck goes to a German restaurant for the Caesar Salad? You want the good stuff, the Schnitzel and my God does this place deliver. The appropriately named and accurately priced Linden Leaf Schnitzel is heaven on a plate. Perfectly cooked with a flawless outer layer, this is Shnitzel better than I've had travelling Germany and Austria. Yeah, I said it. I mean it too. The beer mustard gravy is good enough to drink. And I did. I admit it. I purchased a one way ticket to Flavourtown and Linden Leaf delivered.
Eat here now. Get the take out. Whatever you do, support...
Read moreLinden Leaf is an absolute gem! This European family-owned restaurant is a hidden treat. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the warmth and passion the owners have for their restaurant. The service was nothing short of amazing – friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring.
The food is simply outstanding, with a diverse menu that showcases authentic European flavors. Every dish we tried was delicious, and you can tell it’s made with love and high-quality ingredients. The wine selection is impressive too, offering a great variety that perfectly complements the menu.
What I love most is that despite the top-notch service and quality, the prices are very reasonable. It’s rare to find such a perfect balance of excellent food, great wine, and affordability. If you’re looking for a place that feels like home and a taste of europe with food that delights your taste buds, Linden Leaf is the place to go! Highly recommend!
Be in mind that when writing this review August 15, 2024 it’s their soft launch so the menu isn’t large. It might take longer then chain restaurants to get your food because it’s a new family owned business but when it comes it’ll be all...
