This was our third visit to Woody's since April and it was our last. Not only is it an expensive place for a food truck/diner establishment ($25 per sandwich or $29 with onion rings) but the female staff/owner Jamie is extremely rude and condescending.

We placed our order without any issues as takeout. Previously we have eaten outside and there are picnic tables scattered around the yard. We have eaten inside and out in the yard without issue.

However, on Aug 25, 2025, when a female staff member handed us our order in a takeout bag (minus the drink we ordered and paid for), she told us that takeout means take it and GO and that we can't sit there and eat it there because we ordered takeout and it would be potentially taking revenue away from them since the yard and dining room are licensed for alcohol sales. We let her know that we intended to dine in, as we had done previously but had changed our minds. The entire area of about 7-8 picnic tables was empty except for ours yet she told us this anyways and said she was "just educating us". I asked what the difference was since the price for dine in or takeout was the same and she said it's because they want to keep the area that is dine in for alcohol revenue. We said OK and packed up and left the empty yard and won't return.

There were plenty of seats available, and this is not a high-end establishment—it’s a casual food truck-style restaurant. This is the first time I’ve ever heard of such a policy. Even fast food chains allow customers to sit and eat there after ordering takeout. We paid nearly $70 for lunch for two and it was an empty yard.

Her attitude is clearly one of an uneducated person in the field of customer service and retention. Given it was a Monday and the place was empty outside, the whole event was unnecessary and condescending. Unfortunately, due to this incident and her, we will no...

Fries are under cooked, over cooked or bland. The fish is the cheapest premade bulk fish money can buy and is over cooked most of the time. The burgers have no flavour/seasoning, fall apart easily and dry. The prices are way too high, the owner must be making some serious money (seriously the prices are higher than most fast food places) you can get 1 burger here for the price of a meal at most fast food places.

The 1st year this was open I wouldn't mind paying the prices that they are now as the quality was there. But after they got a customer base their service and quality went way down hill.

Won't be eating there again until

A: the quality goes up

Or

B: the price goes down

I don't need both but the price needs to match the quality

Also I know someone who applied to work their as a cook (last year, 2018) and they have to buy their food at full price and while eating if they get a rush they need to leave their food and serve the customer, now if the cook pays full price then they should be treated like a customer when they order and have a full break regardless of how busy it has become. If the cook didn't have to pay then I would understand being made to work...

We had a late lunch at Woody’s on our way up to the cottage. We sat inside with the air conditioning but they do have outdoor seating as well. Their menu is amazing – just the right amount of options to choose from all smoked in their own unique way. I had the wings with honey garlic sauce. Smoked wings are a twist on the usual method but they were unbelievable! Comes with a side of perfectly cooked french fries and I added gravy for that special touch. My sister had a brisket sandwich which was tender and tasty! For dessert she had a slice of their new crème brûlée cheesecake which has just the right amount of sweetness. I was pleasantly surprised to see Oyster Bay on the menu and enjoyed a glass or two! The staff were very accommodating and quite pleasant! We met the owner who was happy to chat and very knowledgeable about the smoking process. We will definitely be back!! Next time with the...

We ordered the 3 piece perch and the mac and cheese wedges. $28 for 3 small small small tiny pieces of fish is not worth it at all 😭 I don’t know if Lake Erie’s fish is made of gold or something but this price was not it for the amount of food you get. I would’ve opted for the $22 halibut instead if I knew the portion was going to be that small. In Scarborough I pay way less for more fish. The service there was great though! Everything came out quickly and it was nice and clean. Great spot to try on the way back from visiting a provincial park, just not for the fish and chips…

Woodys is an amazing local gem on Hwy 28 with great homemade burgers, and local ice cream. The seating and eating areas are socially distanced and very serene, being adjacent to a river and a forest. The service is also very polite and thoughtful. There is also a store with locally produced art. The bathroom is a port a potty, so from a rest stop perspective, its just average, but there is an attempt to keep them clean (one star lost for requiring a better bathroom option)

Have been a couple of times and look forward to going again. I only had brisket sandwich and onion rings twice but was phenomenal. My daughter and son-in-law went yesterday and had the combon and were having about it. Update: I just went yesterday again. The brisket wasn't as good as before, very plain, not much flavor, and they raised the price from $20 to $23 plus $2 more for the onion rings. Not sure it is a $25 dollar meal!!!
