The Finch Restaurant — Restaurant in North Stormont

I was a loyal customer at Finch restaurant for several years. The food is good and the prices fair. Last night the service and treatment received was horrible. When we arrived the waitress told us to come back in 30 minutes and she would have a table for us. We did as requested and were seated at approximately 7:25 p.m. Note: the restaurant closes at 8:00 p.m. The waitress had just brought our drinks which were not touched. The owner's wife came over and told us she could not serve us as they were too backed up. Wow just wow. The reality is they did not want to stay open a few minutes longer. My question is why were we told to wait outside for half hour and then take our drink orders but not serve us? I walked out without saying a word. I will not be back. This is not how you run a business and certainly not how you keep loyal customers. We went to Hardstones in Kemptville and were promptly served with better food at a slightly higher cost. Arrived and was told they were full, all good, but the waitress saw a free table and we got to sit. We waited for 1 hour before getting our food because they were super busy, but the staff was very friendly and appologized. The food was amazing, good prices too. It was very loud though, could barely talk with my boyfriend. We were there until a little after closimg since we received our food about 15 mins before closing time. Staff are overall friendly. We get the odd times undercooked food. It's rare but, it happens. We don't ask for delivery since we live nearby and don't mind picking up ourselves. Sometimes, my pizzas were undercooked or super stingy on the ingredients. It seems to depend on what kind of mood the cook is in. Within the same order, the fries for our poutine will be undercooked as well. I'll stop ordering for a while. Time passes and our food is perfectly fine. I enjoy the quality and quantity of food served at such decent prices. On occasion, someone in that kitchen will have a bad day and get angry at the food....
