Friday, Jan 5th, 2024. Took over an hour to get kids Mac and Cheese and when it came it was cold 😡😡 Service was terrible (older thin blonde woman). Half done a second coffee before my order came. Toast was cold, dried out and fries, gravy AND sandwich were all cold. Sorry to say we ate it only because my 6 yr old grand son was starving. In restaurant for 2hrs total of wait time and eating. It was packed when we arrived and was told by male waitress to sit at bar until a table or booth was available. When another patron left, table was given to people who were waiting at door. I proceded to ask female waitress why she gave table to them as we were waiting. Very snarky she said sorry and moved them back. I told her people were already sitting with coats off that we would wait longer for another table and she insisted to move them. After we took table she avoided coming to our table to serve. We sat at bar for approx 15mins and once at table another 15 mins before the male waiter finally came to ask us if we wanted something to drink. Once drinks came he took our order. All around us new people were being seated and served way before our order came. A second cup of coffee was poured for me. The people who were made to leave our booth were seated and had their burger and fries before our food came. So petty....my 6yr old grand son told me that the female waitress was giving very dirty looks at us every time she passed. Pretty bad when a 6yr old notices that!!!! I know we were treated like that because female waitress was embarrased. Not our fault. Even through all this I was polite and paid. I will never step foot in there again. My grand son was so hungry and you really took it out on him. Shame, shame...

Walked in and immediately noticed how clean and open the space was. Welcoming, no clutter, just good energy. Michelle, our waitress, greeted us with a smile and had already checked in for drinks before we even got back from washing up. Fast, friendly, and on point.
We came for the fish and chips — a local recommended it while I was in town grabbing materials. Not even five minutes after our drinks hit the table, the food arrived. I was skeptical at first... how can real food come out that quick? But the presentation shut me up fast.
Fries were crispy and golden. Gravy was hands-down homemade and maybe the best I’ve had. Rich, savoury, perfect. Coleslaw was the real deal too... tart, sweet, refreshing. I asked Michelle if they were made in-house. She confirmed they were. You can taste the difference.
The fish, Alaskan Pollock, was cooked perfectly. Crispy outside, tender inside, and the batter had great flavour without being greasy. A+.
It’s a shame I’m not in Norwich more often. If I was, I’d be working my way through the daily specials and the huge menu. Looks like they’ve got something for everyone.
Clean spot. Friendly service. Food made with care....
Read moreI rarely post a bad review and this one is only negative on one aspect but i feel it needs to be written and addressed as this happens each time we go in. TIPPING ON TAKE-OUT SHOULD NOT BE EXPECTED, let alone mentioned or brought up after someone chooses not to. PLEASE train your staff out of this mentality. It is rude to expect it and this time has pushed us over the edge. We won't be vising anymore after this last time. Cashier told him "most people tip on take-out" after he put the zero in the machine. Actually, according to the questions constantly asked on platforms, it is less than 50% of people who tip on take-out.... less than half is most certainly not considered most. A lesson in math may be in order here as that is quite the opposite. How aboout they be grateful that people are still managing to eat out at your establishment after prices have sky rocketed all over the place. There are a ton of choices out there so be thankful when...
