The fish and chips at Fran's is very tasty. The batter on the fish is on the thicker side, but not overwhelmingly so. If you must have a super thin batter, this fish is not for you. The chips (fries) are really great, (some of the best I've had) and the portion is generous. The Cole slaw is fantastic (mayo based) and the tartar sauce quite nice. A lemon wedge is included, which goes wonderfully squeezed on the fries, as well as the fish. Addionally, they have a fairly extensive menu of non fish items, for those who enjoy "turf" but no "surf". The fish was golden, crispy, and cooked to perfection—every bite was flavorful and fresh. I tried both the halibut and haddock, and while both were excellent, the halibut was my personal favorite. The new owner, Shahid, was incredibly warm and welcoming, taking the time to chat and share exciting plans for the future of the restaurant. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality alongside top-tier food. Highly recommended—this place is a gem.
