Expensive restaurant is in the middle of nowhere,it's survival is pretty much dependent on the hotel guests. Never had sweet and salty pasta before..sure it was a kids pasta, but kids deserve good food also. Pizza was mediocre, similar to a frozen grocery store, kids liked it,but dough was soggy and had a cardboard texture to it. Appetizers are small portions...most people share them...and some have them as their main course. Wait staff was more interested in taking names for covid registration than service,, Not sure what the point is? They don't ask for I.D. I'm sure most people give out fake names and phone numbers anyway. It was a dusty restaurant, I was afraid to move my chair as it was so rickety I feared it would break on me, like it did on Goldilocks. The paper table coverings for a restaurant of this price point is laughable. Watered down drinks, taste nothing like they should. Sever was ok,kind of absent minded, perhaps if she actually wrote the order down. She was all over the place, asked for condiments, she would get distracted and forget..never asked for or refilled our beverages...guess water and pop are expensive now too. Foreign object found in my main course...server took it back, offered replacement, tried another dish instead, kind of put of by the first dish though.. it was ok..rabbits would be happy eating the way undercooked vegetables, and mashed potatoes were lukewarm. They did however try to make it right and didn't charge me for my replacement main, and drinks....perhaps that's why they never came back to refill them, because they were being comped? All in all,if you dont want to drive anywhere while staying at hotel,it's the only spot around. If you have the time, make the trip elsewhere and try the other...
Read moreUsually I steer clear of hotel restaurants.....we were tired and tried it for lunch. Service was excellent and food was very good. Will be back to try their dinner another time ...but I suspect this is an exception to the rule of don't eat at the hotel restaurant.
I still don't understand why the hotel does not send their front desk staff there for a complimentary meal so they can recommend it with conviction.
Breakfast the next morning was included and was above average for a hotel breakfast....but it was a sincere joy to see the waitress....she was swamped with clients and was cheerful and helpful to all.
The restaurant itself is laden with task interference and the management should do themselves a favour and nix the full service on coffee and juice. Clients in a rush would not have been happy at all. There were at times 5 parties waiting to be seated and the sitelines are terrible in the restaurant so a waiter or waitress cannot always see around the crescent chaped restaurant.
This waitress did an amazing job and kept her cool the whole time. I understand that the management does the full service on beverages as an added touch to what is actually a chic elegant property....but if can backfire when breakfast bottlenecks occur. And they will always occur with a 3 hour window for breakfast with a hotel at near full occupancy.
UPDATE: I appreciate the response, but not really. It is a form letter and It doesn't look like you actually read anything I wrote. Too bad, it is not often you get constructive criticism from a qualified source. And no, I do no post under my real name. Good luck...
Read moreThe two stars are for the waitress for trying hard and a clean washroom. Food was reasonably good, may be because we were all so hungry after waiting for over an hour. Our reservation was at 5 pm and we all arrived on time. After drinks were served and we all placed our orders, the long wait began, meals started trickling in after over an hour, some of us were eating while others were watching. I brought to the attention of the manager at the end, she actually accused us for making the reservation of 9 and had 16 people showed up, and she sounded like she was doing a favor to accommodate us. Checking back to our own record, we never reserved for just 9, in fact, we confirmed our reservation for 17 people at 11 am same day and was accepted. I did offer a second opportunity to come back but never received a sincere apology, let alone any incentive for a return. A public relation consultation is...
