I would advise picking up a cake ordered from this business at least a day before you actually need to present it, just to make sure you are getting what you ordered, as my experience was extremely disappointing, to say the least.....My 50th birthday was on Feb 1/16 and on Jan 28, my daughter ordered a vanilla 1/4 slab with vienna filling over the phone and gave her cell phone number when asked. On Sat Jan 30, when my daughter arrived to pick up the cake, the bakery presented her with 2 small (5 inch round) mocha flavoured (which I can't stand) cakes that you could tell were just quickly slapped together. One cake said "Happy" and the second cake said "50th Mom". There was no apology or explanation given...just that they would only charge her $10.00. Because the celebrations were that day and my daughter didn't have time to get a cake from anywhere else, she paid the $10.00 (which I would never have done) and took the cakes. I was embarrassed and am still disgusted that a business would even charge for such a disaster. You would think that a bakery would make a 50th birthday cake more of a priority than that and at least call the customer and give them a "heads up" as to the disappointment they would be getting when they picked up their mistake. I would rather have had a store bought frozen McCain's cake as it would have tasted much fresher! There were 8 people to feed and there wasn't even enough for everyone. Needless to say, I will never forget my 50th birthday because of that and will NEVER order a cake from the Windmill again! I uploaded the pictures to Google Maps if anyone is interested in...

What a pleasant surprise! We were passing through on a Saturday morning and saw this bustling place in Mt. pleasant. There's a big green space out front with picnic tables and families, friends were all out there having lunch.

It stuck with us, so after our errand we doubled back to try it out and made it back within the time for their hot lunch between 11-2. It was tasty! They have a small set menu plus a couple of daily specials. (Note: their website is not up to date). We had BBQ chicken skewers served with rice, vegetables and a freshly baked bun. About $13/meal. The little market inside sold fresh everything - baked goods - deli - fruit - treats - and also featured a lot of imported and specialty foods. Be prepared to find something unusual or special. There's also a shop with crafted goods inside. We didn't go in but saw some on display in the entryway. Lots of interesting finds! All of the staff - every team member was friendly and kind.

Everything we brought home was delicious and did not last long!...

Travelled up to this very unique bakery/old country store and gift shop, this establishment have everything. There’s fresh bakery, that make a wide assortment of goods, all homemade baked. From butter tarts, donuts, turnovers, cakes, pies, and freshly baked assortment of breads. They’re cheese bread is excellent, and many more, deli, frozen entrees, canned, bottled preservatives etc. Fresh produce on site, along with huge gift items for sale also. Located in nice country setting, also in summer time, you can eat outside on the grounds (bring your own chairs) during a stage 2 of COVID lockdown protocol. Can also eat inside, limited seating during COVID, made sandwiches and soup etc all from counter. Cheese, cold meats etc, all friendly and knowledgeable and accommodating staff on hand. Always a pleasant visit to stock up on fresh home made baked goods...

Raw pie crust... We have been going to this place for many years because they always had the best pies. Unfortunately they have went down hill. We got some mini peach pies over a month ago and they still had raw uncooked dough on the bottom. Hoping it was just a fluke, we got our pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving as usual. They were way thinner then they used to be... But more importantly, they were again raw/ uncooked on the bottom. I hate to think how many families also got uncooked pies for their Thanksgiving dinners and didnt know until they tried to eat it. They sold A LOT of pies... I noticed the day before. I fixed them by covering the tops with tinfoil and baking them longer on the bottom rack for 30 mins. Destroyed the look but atleast were cooked properly.

The Windmill: Wow. What a NICE place! Truly a gem. Very clean, well-organized. Great selection of quality products. Family-owned. So so many great, quality foods, pastries, baked goods, many items. Was passing through, for a very quick stop. Just browsing, but will definitely be back when next in the area. Looking forward to it! ________ 2021Jan20 So many products! I have had The Best sandwiches here - Montreal Smoke Meat, Egg salad - both SO Good. Many more. In-house fresh baked bread used in their sandwiches, fresh quailty ingredients. So many items. *You really need to make this place a destination!* Wonderful place. I can't say enough. Very friendly helpful staff.

We drove here by a couple of weeks ago and I knew I wanted to try it out asap. Finally today we had the time to go and wow we had a fantastic experience at Windmill Country Market in Mount Pleasant, Brant! First we enjoyed a delicious meal of fish and chips, and then we walked around to look at their selection of home decor items which we were very cute and unique. They even have items like quilts, candles, and handcrafted Amish furniture. And who can resist a treat from their bakey?! We were too full to have the desserts there but we definitely took it to go! Recommend it 100%!
