This is actually an awareness post for non-white people. Also, why I gave 1 star on the atmosphere.
If you are a non-white person, don't go there. The staff are very welcoming and professional, but you might encounter some residents who are just racist, think the public place is also their private property and waiting to create a scene. Actually, don't go to any small towns full of white people who are not used to seeing non-white people. We are a South Asian couple who went to the Tim Hortons yesterday. There were 3 groups of people already sitting there. One group of young women sitting near the door had a super active 1.5 years old baby. The baby was saying 'Hi' and 'Bye' to us continuously and waving toward us. As a nice gesture, we also did the same to the baby. Now, the two young women got angry with us and started screaming at us, calling us 'creepy' and then left. Then from another group, one male person came to us and accused us of taking pictures of the young women. Seriously!!! He is saying the young women are his relatives, and we scared them and because of us, they had to leave this place. \ When we said that "you can check our phone if you want", and then he just changed his words and keep saying that we made them uncomfortable. We asked what have we even done? We were just waving at the baby in response as the baby waved at us first. Then a lady in her fifties from the third group said she is also their relative, and two of us are very scary that's why they had to leave. Anyone would be scared of seeing us. Really, lady?? and she keep insisting that we look scary and creepy and by smiling at their baby we made their young relatives uncomfortable so much that they had to leave. So confidently the lady said that anyone would be scared of seeing us. Will you guys do the same if a white person waved at your baby? Obviously not. Because you guys pointed at how we look. Dear woman in your fifties and the entire group at the Tim Hortons at Dunneville, I feel pity for you. Your knowledge about society is so sallow. You have zero knowledge of society, and people and you have zero sense of compassion. Thanks for letting us know that a South Asian young professional couple can make white people feel uncomfortable just by their looks only. We still feel lucky that it's Canada. Otherwise, you guys might have shot us as we look creepy and scary to you. I told my husband that never ever smile at unknown white people as a nice gesture. These people don't deserve immigrants' hospitality and welcoming behaviour or even nice behaviour. Oh. and here is the funny part. When I said that this is absolutely racist behaviour, the male person said, "No, we are not racist. I have a 10-year olde niece who is a mixed-race, we love her so much!" Should I laugh or feel annoyed? Having a mixed-race relative and loving them does not make you a non-racist person. You will be defined as racist based on the things you do and the things you say. And based on that, you and your entire groups of relatives who were present...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is hands down the busiest Tim Hortons Iāve ever visited! The drive-thru was completely packed, so I decided to go inside, but even there it was full of people. Still, the staff were incredibly fast ā I got my coffee in no time, and it was fresh and tasty.
What really impressed me was the teamās attitude. Even though they were serving non-stop and clearly under a lot of pressure, they stayed polite, friendly, and professional the entire time. I did notice a few customers being unnecessarily rude or impatient, which honestly is not fair to the staff. People need to understand that this team is juggling a lot at once, and theyāre still managing to keep things moving quickly for everyone.
Huge respect to the staff here for keeping their cool and making sure every customer gets served with a smile, even when they donāt always get the same courtesy back. Keep up the...
