So I typically try not to rate down a place if it's not to my taste but I'm from out of town and dragged eight people to this place because it had five stars and I don't want someone else to fall into this.

First, it's takeout ice cream only, the actual place is in an incubator park for businesses getting established and it had a fun and funky gift shop in the spot. We came in in cold weather and had no where to eat it, there's a park around the corner but not in freezing, windy weather.

The flavors seemed interesting and for being takeout ice cream, well packaged, so that when you opened it up, some flavors had toppings on them that looked great. We got six flavors, and of them only one was good to us.

It was also just served too cold. We wanted it right away, thinking it was an ice cream shop, and it was rock hard to start.

Chocolate chip: vanilla ice cream was cloying and kind of a grainy texture. The chips were waxy and chewy. My kid wouldn't eat it and I thought she was being dramatic but no.

Peanut butter cookie: it was okay. Person that got it is a peanut butter ice cream aficionado and it just wasn't hitting.

Lemon sorbet was strong, consistency was good and lemon is my flavor but the consistency and intensity was off a little to make me excited.

Moon Mist: the five year old loved it but it tasted like sugared up wax to me.

Toasted Marshmallow: this one was by far the best. Perfect texture, cool flavor notes, creative the topping was awesome.

So, your mileage may vary but it wasn't worth driving a half hour out of our way with two families, all of whom (except me and the five year old, because I got the toasted...

The fam and I were in the mood for ice cream and we were going to go to Dairy Queen, but then remembered the neighborhood raving about Chris's Ice Cream, so we headed there instead to support local.

We are so happy we did because the ice cream was out of this world. The kid got the moon mist (which I kept stealing because it was packed with so much flavour), the hubs got the Ah Caramel which I kept stealing as well because I love caramel. I couldn't decide what to get because all the flavours looked and sounded incredible, but I grabbed the jos louis which I tried to keep to myself and not share.

As we were eating the ice cream, we were planning out our next ice cream adventure here. The Ice cream was decadent and rich and we had so much fun trying out the different flavours offered here. The owner, Chris, was so friendly and nice as well, as he offered to replace my kids fallen ice cream cone that we were eating outside the shop. Most shops would not do that.

The shop is shared with good grazes in the canotek business park, and it is very welcoming inside. We cannot...

🍦 Chris's Ice Cream: Where Sweet Dreams Come True!

I truly can’t express the profound affect Chris’s Ice Cream has had on my life. It evolved my run of the mill party from the usual blah, blah, blah to a resounding OOOO LA LA!!!!

Let me tell you, when I took my first scoop of Chris's ice cream, I felt like I was floating on a cloud made of sprinkles and happiness. It's like every flavor was handcrafted by the Ice Cream Fairy herself.

Chris is so sweet I hope they make him into the next ice cream flavor, what a lip smacker I’d eat him right up.

Ottawa, I don’t think you realize the treasure you are hoarding; my only criticism is that Chris hasn’t expanded to Toronto yet. What’s the delay?

I mean, Toronto is missing out on a whole world of creamy goodness! Chris's ice cream is like a party in your mouth, and Toronto needs to join the celebration.

If you haven’t tried him yet, get on it, Chris will not let you down. OOOO LA LA!!!! Trust me, your taste buds will thank you for the adventure they're about to embark on. Chris's Ice Cream: Making life sweeter, one scoop...

Visited the store after reading so many great reviews about this place and I'm making a conscious effort to support local businesses. Was only able to try 2 flavours as all they had was lemon, moon mist, and rum raisin (did not buy that one). It was about 1:30pm when I entered the store. No one seemed to be in there except for me but eventually a man wearing a face mask came out. No greeting, no hello, no how can I help you. I found that really off putting. He spoke once I got to the cash and asked if there were any other flavours available. He replied no what's out is what they have. Ok fine. The ice cream was great, texture was creamy. I really liked the moon mist as did my family. I spent 28$ on 4 containers. They were the small ones you can finish in one sitting. Overall I may go back to try more flavours, but word of advice to the owner, train your staff to greet customers. Customer service skills go a long way these days.

February 2025 Delicious, delicious, delicious! My first time here and I will be back. I took advantage of the February 1st occasion of "International eat ice cream for breakfast day." So fun! The special flavours of the day that I bought and tried were the cinnamon croissant ice cream sandwich, fruit loops, and banana french toast. All of them tasted exactly like what they were named. I took them home for my family to try. While there, I also bought some of the other ice creams: toffee oreo, and salted caramel. We loved all of them. Creamy, and yummy! I met the owner Chris, a friendly, and charming man. Also sold here is artisan coffee, and other local goods. Takeout only, and the parking area can fit two or three cars. This place is a hidden gem!
