My husband and I are here visiting on our honeymoon. My husband ordered over the phone for ONE egg Benedict and one traditional breakfast. I was next to him when he made the call. When he picked up the item, he went out to the car to check the bag and noticed there was 3 of the egg Benedict plus his breakfast. There are only 2 of us. He went back inside and explained there were two extra containers in the bag that we did not order. Whoever helped him argued and said he was not getting a refund and that they heard him say 3. He asked if they could pull the call as he only said 1. They said they don't keep any records. Once he returned and I heard, I called to speak to management. I've been in management for YEARS and would NEVER speak to a guest the way I was spoken to. They are beyond rude and told me "so what you expect me to just roll over and let you have it?". I expect good customer service when you OVERCHARGE a guest and the guest tells you politely there was a big miscommunication.

Please don't place orders over the phone with them. Better off going in and double checking your bill. This was very poorly handled and should have...

Here is why you need to come here for breakfast and why it is the place I always go to for breakfast out of the house. It is like home away from home. It is cozy. The staff know me as a regular and begin to prepare my order as soon as noticing that I have driven up in the driveway. I reach for a few newspapers to read while enjoying my cup of organic free trade coffee. I just order the regular breakfast special. My friend orders a salad instead of the toast and he has bacon while I have ham. They have won numerous awards over the years and they have a Gift Shop called Heart of The Valley Gifts run by The Bowen family. I have cast my vote in support of this family owned and operated business which has offered me a seat at their breakfast table whenever I wish. The restaurant is in a converted house. There is a library of books you can read, add to or take away from for your reading pleasure. It is true that the place is not as clean as it could be, but sometimes our homes can get that way too sometimes and it does feel like home. I do love the food. ...

I'm one that dines out a lot... Ill only rate if its a five star or two star and lower. That being said this is a hidden gem, and not one of those hidden gem every one that eventually give you food pinioning. This place is a Ginny in the bottle hidden gem. The food is pretty much as home cook that one can get. Its not going to be the fastest cook meal but that's why when it gets to the table its perfect. The home fries are actual potatoes.... wow.. and yes they are that good. The coffee is premium, and I can almost swear (unless I'm wrong) some of the vegetables are actually pick out of a garden. the fruits are fresh and the service is always with a smile. The decor theme is like going to grandmas house in the country for breakfast. Its warm and inviting. Its a must visit even if your driving from Ottawa, and I'll always go back as for know its my go to place for a traditional breakfast.
