Jude's Pizza - VARS — Restaurant in Ottawa

For years, I've had a love/hate relationship with this place, (mostly hate) but unfortunately, it's the only place in Vars.

We've had decent pizza, horrible pizza, pizza with hair in it, pizza that fell apart when you picked it up (not in a good way, but in a there's a disgusting amount of fake cheese on this, type-of-way.) I've had the chicken "Caesar" salad. $20 for a small. Look at it. (I attached a picture). It's just a bunch of lettuce and the same chicken they use for everything else. The dressing was so disgusting. It was the "garlic dip" they give you for pizza. If you've ever had their garlic dip, you know it's barely edible with pizza, let alone as a dressing for salad. When you ask for extra pizza sauce, you don't get it, but they sure love to charge you! The prices are ridiculous. If you order online, be careful. I ordered the chef salad with extra meat. There was an option for extra cheese. "Extra" implies it already comes with some meat and cheese, right? Wrong. I didn't get any cheese whatsoever. The options should be, "ADD meat" and "ADD cheese". But again, it's the same chicken they use for everything else. Dry, tasteless, and old. And the exorbitant price remains the same! All in all, we have only ever ordered from here because it's the only option. Vars needs a new place. I miss the food truck that was around a couple of years ago. Oh, I almost forgot. That "pepperoni" on their pizza, is just lunch meat. They can't even serve you a SUPER expensive pizza with real pepperoni.

Stopped by Jude's Pizza today for our first time as we were in the area and I must say, this is truly a "Diamond in the Rough". First off, we used the online ordering on their website where you have cash, credit or debit options and delivery or pickup. We chose the cash option and pick up so no upfront money and we received a text confirmation - process was seemless and ready in 20 minutes. First time online orders receive 10 percent savings which is another bonus. Met the owner who was extremely friendly, courteous and respectful. He talked about opening this new Lebanese Pizza place one year ago and about all the fresh ingredients he makes in-house like, fresh dough, pizza sauce, chicken Parmigiana, fresh subs, and the Lebanese Fatouche salad to just name a few - they all sound fantastic and a must try with our next future orders. We ordered the thin crust vegetarian large pizza and it was delicious - from the soft crust, tasty sauce, lots of mozzarella, and fresh veggies this pizza was top shelf and one of the best in the Eastern Ontario area. The nice thing about Jude's - its only 10 minutes from Russell or Embrun so its worth the short trip or delivery is a great option. I decided to try out a new place and boy was I ever happy that I did. My experience started off very pleasant I went to their website and made my order it was easy and simple to do. Immediately after processing my order I received confirmation of the order. I then had the delivery man show up who was kind, polite and helpful which was nice being the first person I had interacted with he certainly had made a great impression. We then opened the food, and the thing that first impacted us was the smell was wonderful. We then started to dig in and my kids said that the pizza was amazing they put the right amount of cheese and weren’t cheap. The steak sub had so much flavour and the bread was fresh. I had ordered with it a Greek salad which was outstandingly fresh with a homemade dressing that was so good. I cannot wait to order from here again and see if their level of service ,consistency of food freshness and quality continues from here or if this was a one time fluke because they knew I was a new client. All new customers that order online at this time, March 2022 will get a discount if they order online only and only for their first order. ( I don’t know how long this promo will last I just know I used it last night) definitely worth your money....
