Went there for my anniversary and had a horrible meal. Service was good, the building is new and beautiful, but the food (which was of course the reason for going) was atrocious. My husband and I ordered the steak dinner (as it was one of the few options that wasn't fish and chips or sandwiches). We ordered medium rare and medium cooked steak, and both recieved a gristly and well done (and luke-warm) steak. The mashed potatoes were LUMPY and flavorless. The gravy we ordered to try and boost up the experience was 2 dollars and was also flavorless. It may have had salt and pepper, but seasoning was scarce. The veggies (carrots and green beans) seemed local, but were cooked to mush. Desert was a bit better, but was not redeeming. Overall, the new facility is eye catching, but the menu and the quality of the meal was certainly not up to scratch. Would not recommend if you...
Read moreLast night we stopped here at approximately 5:15 to get supper. There were very few people there. There were two people to our left(not served) two to.our right who were eating their meal and six in front of fireplace that were just being served. The room off to.the right, which i couldn't see ) seemed to be busy. Not our fault. We ordered a bowl of seafood chowder and a sandwich...pretty simple...we waited 43 minutes before our meal was served. WE were not happy. The two.people to our left, who were there before us, were served their food after us. The food was very good, and the hostess was very nice BUT REALLY 43 minutes for a bowl of chowder and one sandwich. Why did that happen. I was extremely disappointed. One should be told if the wait was going to be that long,, as I would have left. Not sure I will return....No apology, no...
Read moreI found since they had the fire and rebuilt the place that nothing has changed about this place. The food is nothing special in any way ...the only good food is their chicken, only because they use a special deep fryer for that and the chicken is actually tasty. When they rebuilt this place they ruined it by making it a Foo Foo place for the rich and stupid. They should have left it like it was, rustic and country like. Maybe if they got a real cook and a real menu and cut out all that freaking yukky frozen food nobody likes than maybe the lot would be full of patrons. Oh well you know how it goes...you can make the building as beautiful as you want but if your food still stinks as bad as it was then you mite as well close the doors for good. Stop with frozen and get...
