BarVela Pizzeria & Mercato — Restaurant in Point Prim

We were a group of 15 cyclists and arrived 20 minutes before opening, chef was picking basil from the garden. We really didn’t know what to expect - I mean after all it is on a small road in a corner of PEI. Whatever expectations we had, they were BLOWN away. The pizza was fantastic, a great crispy crust, with just enough burn bubbles, fresh toppings - all the pizzas were good, we were 15 so we ordered at least 1 of everything. You can visit the lighthouse and the glass village, must sees, but BarVela is a must for lunch when in PEI. And the owners are great! Friendly and enthusiastic and accommodating. Would cycle the 50 km from Charlottetown against the wind again...

Really good pizza! We ordered on our way and they said it would be about 45 minutes but when we got there 25 minutes later it was ready. There were picnic tables around with a couple checkers boards, Jenga, ring toss and bean bag toss. It's in a nice area close enough to see the water in the distance. The pizza is really good. I would recommend the Barca. One is plenty per person and you might walk away with leftovers. There are a few drink...

A 5 Star Pizza!!! Soooo good!

The dough is amazing. Crisp and light and flavorful at the same time. First rate ingredients too. The sauce is perfect. Their balsamic glaze just right. Cheese choices outstanding!

I order 3 at a time, just for the two of us. We often freeze them and reheat slices in a dry stove-top skillet.

Everyone rates them 5 star except one guy who writes a 5 star review but gave them 4 stars! Hopefully he’ll fix...
